By engaging all the human senses, The CATalyst teaches participants simple, yet practical grounding techniques that are effective and efficient.
By engaging and “joining” the sensory perceptions of the predator animals, participants experience a palpable connection to natural balance..
The motivation behind the inception of The CATalyst came from a culmination of experiences.
The privilege of working with military/war veterans is one of the most inspiring influences.
Witnessing the physical, mental, and emotional reactions of veterans as they recount or listen to the intense war stories humbled, yet intrigued me.

Watching the disheartening shift in the demeanor of the veterans, I wanted to facilitate some return to normalcy.
Assisting these men and women with their healing processes made evident the need for teaching grounding techniques.
They sacrificed for this country, and as a result I felt a sense of duty to try and repay the favor..
In many cultures, rituals of soul retrieval are performed on warriors to help integrate their return into the community and daily life.
By strongly introducing present moment awareness, the soul retrievals bring the hearts and minds of the people back from the intense wartime experiences.
I began searching for an approach that would help modern day warriors regain their balance and sense of peace..
Shortly after my search for a soul retrieval process began, I was afforded the opportunity to work hands-on with wolves.
After experiencing the present moment awareness of existing within a wolf pack, which I explain later in this document, I knew I had found the appropriate instrument to deliver the soul retrieval process.
The presence of predator animals erased all of the thoughts in my mind and kept me focused on the present moment.

Several years later, I was led to volunteer at an animal sanctuary called the C.A.R.E.
Foundation.
The Senior Trainers and creators of C.A.R.E.
were already facilitating groups of autistic children at the sanctuary and understood the power of human-animal interaction.
I explained my intentions of establishing The CATalyst program, the idea was enthusiastically welcomed by the staff, and the curriculum development commenced..

As the implementation of the program proceeded successfully, not only were people benefiting tremendously from the interaction with animals, the animals appeared to be enjoying the enrichment that the human interface provided.
The staff reported that after The CATalyst program began, the demeanor of some “unruly” animals improved, creating a win-win situation for everyone involved..
