Detailed description is The Children’s House Learning Center is a preschool/daycare in Littleton, NH. We work will children aged 3 months - 5 years. For over forty years, the school has prepared children for entering elementary school. The Children's House, a parent co-operative, opened its doors in 1971 in response to a need felt by parents in the community for a high quality preschool and daycare center. For over forty years, the school has prepared children for entering elementary school with specific skills and genuine interest in learning. The educational and philosophical focus of the school draws from the Montessori method of teaching which emphasizes the development of inner discipline as the key to independent learning. Children develop a desire for knowledge and are encouraged to learn at their own pace, take responsibility for themselves and their fellow classmates, and take joy in discovery and learning.. . The Children’s House has grown from a starting class of seven children to a current enrollment of approximately forty children. In the 1980s the parent body purchased the present site on 75 Bronson St. in Littleton, where we now have an Infant Program starting at 3 months, a Young Toddler Program for ages 1-2, a Toddler Program for ages 2-3, and a Primary Program for children ages 3 to 5 years.. . We are a licensed child care provider both before and after our regularly scheduled programs between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Our school is a non-profit institution accepting students without regard for race, religion, or natural origin. Student enrollment comes from the communities of Littleton, Whitefield, Dalton, Franconia, Easton, Sugar Hill, Bethlehem, Woodsville, Lisbon, Bath, and nearby towns in Vermont. . . After forty years of service to community children, we are able to see the success of the school's charter in the high school and college students who began their educational career at The Children's House.
