Detailed description is The HAWC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes to provide holistic and recreational services in Park Raids. The Heartland Activity and Wellness Connection, Inc. (The HAWC) is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes, specifically to provide holistic services to benefit the overall health and well being of community members in a rural area. We further our purposes under this program by conducting the following activities: After completing construction of the facility in the Spring of 2017, a variety of healthcare services will be invited to utilize space in the facility including, but not limited to, chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, behavioral health, naturopathic medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, medication management, etc. Sports and exercise equipment will be purchased. Activities for all ages will be scheduled/ organized including, but not limited to: yoga, Pilates, walking, tennis, volleyball, basketball, exercise machines, etc. Activities for healthy, community functioning will also be offered including, but not limited to, job readiness training, financial planning/budgeting classes, community gardening, sober living, pro-bono professional services, educational tutoring, college readiness, etc. Community members and organizations will also be able to rent The HAWC for a variety of activities including, but not limited to: weddings, banquets, organizational meetings, educational conferences, birthday parties, etc. The HAWC is a non-profit organization that works closely with the behavioral health clinic, A Better Connection, Inc. (ABC). The HAWC will provide services that do not otherwise exist in Park Raids, Minnesota. The HAWC and ABC’s services compliment one another to keep both businesses sustainable. The HAWC will only serve as a fiscal non-profit partner when ABC is in need of applying for grants for services that are not otherwise funded by health insurance companies. Funding will be used to make services affordable to all ages and all socio-economic backgrounds.
