The Knitting Diva was born from a casual suggestion that Weaverville needed a yarn shop.
Owner Greta Hillin had been looking for something that she had passion for and wanted to start a business in her new hometown.
As a knitter and crocheter, it seemed like a good fit..

Along with a neighbor, Greta started a knitting circle that met weekly at Well-Bred Bakery.
As the circle grew, so did her passion for making the dream of having a yarn shop come true.
In June 2013, she found a location and went to yarn market.
After taking possession of the space on July 1, Greta and an incredible band of angels who wanted a yarn shop in Weaverville as badly as she did, came together to make it happen.
