In 2003 a group of individuals came together to form the Timothy L Correll Foundation, Inc. a 501(c)3 organization to help ensure that there is always someone trained and ready to respond in times of need.. . The Timothy L Correll Foundation (TLCF) helps individuals, organizations, public schools, fire departments/fire districts and others with an interest in building stronger, more prepared communities with better resiliency before, during, and after an emergency or disaster strikes.. In Minnesota 96% of fire service personnel are volunteers, and nationwide uniformed emergency responders constitute less than one percent of the total U.S. population. TLCF, Inc invests in individuals who are willing to serve their local communities as well-trained emergency personnel and acts as a private-funding resource for emergency medical services (EMS) and fire services. TLCF’s support for these agencies is based upon a well-defined local training need. . To date we have awarded nearly $40,000 to individuals and organizations for training and education. In addition to awarding more than 60 scholarships for nursing, fire science and paramedics, we have provided grants for training activities, such as confined space, rural search and rescue, driving apparatus and more, as well as purchased fire prevention materials for elementary school children. . We want to do more. We have a strong interest in making a strong and positive impact in Minnesota’s local communities. We are interested in growing the numbers of emergency responders, firefighters and nurses to respond when needed and to help prepare citizens because there isn’t enough emergency workers to respond in times of disaster or crisis.
