Children will have constant and competent supervision at all times in a safe environment screened from hazards. Our individual classrooms help provide our teachers the use of age appropriate equipment which, in turn, allows children to develop their own creativity and show self-expression.. . The Learning Center for Children is a program designed to enable all children to enhance self-esteem and positive feeling toward learning. Children learn best by doing things which give them opportunities for choice, experimentation and problem solving.. . Our teachers are provided with monthly themes. Using the curriculum’s themes, each teacher designs individualized lesson plans. Our staff members contribute their knowledge at a weekly planning meeting where they share ideas with one another.. . Our curriculum includes discovery and stimulation by using our learning centers. Learning centers are spaces set aside for different activities, such as science, math, arts and crafts, block area, reading, music and dramatic play. The daily routines of child care allow many chances for teachable moments.. . Teachable moments are times when children are so interested in something that they give it their complete attention. These times often seem to happen by chance. They result from seeing such things as a fallen bird’s nest, eggs hatching or a science experiment.. .
