Detailed description is TOPS Mentoring-Fostoria has a mission is to provide a realistic and balanced mentoring program to at risk students in grade 6-8 in Fostoria City Schools. The Mission of TOPS . advantage Mentoring-Fostoria is to provide a realistic and balanced mentoring program. To provide students time with caring adults who are willing to offer their friendship, support, advice and example.. . The program will focus on “At Risk” kids in grades 6th-8th that attend “Fostoria City Schools” who are statistically pre-disposed to academic failure, low self-esteem, depression, bullying, truancy and poverty.. . TOPS a nonprofit organization will serve as lead agency, in partnership with Fostoria City Schools. National Parent Academy and Higher Ground Ministries Church will also serve as primary partners.. . In the first year, TOPS-F and its partners will serve 40 students; 25 students in the 6th and 7th grade and 15 students in the 8th grade; and parents of the most at risk students.. . TOPS-F will utilize the “Winning Futures Mentoring Program” an evidenced based curriculum focusing on life skills, goal setting and strategic planning.
