We invite you to visit and check us out!. . Community FAQ's:. . * What is this new community all about?. It’s not about religion—it’s about relationship. We honor and respect each person’s relationship with God as well as with each other, and actively seek to develop those relationships. We won’t tell you what to . believe – but we will challenge you to think for yourself – because it is in the process of consideration and contemplation that you develop a greater understanding of God. . . * What do we do?. We pray, sing, read scriptures, and have a message and reflection time. We call God by many names. We read scriptures from multiple traditions, including the Bible, . Torah, Qur’an, Tao Te Ching, Bhagavad Gita, A Course in Miracles, and so many other wisdom writings. We include chanting, pop music, some traditional hymns, as well as contemporary praise music, drumming, meditation and more. We approach topics from multiple perspectives to gain a fresh understanding.. . * Why Wednesday?. Many of us have commitments to our own faith communities on Friday night, Saturday or Sunday, as well as other commitments to family and friends. Wednesday seemed like a great alternative; in the middle of the week to recharge our spiritual batteries for the rest of the week, and leave the weekend for other ventures. . . * Is this a new religion?. Absolutely not! This isn’t meant to replace anyone’s religion – but to broaden our perspectives, and help us gain a better understanding of each other. But more importantly, it’s about the spiritual aspect that underlies all faiths. We’ll give you all kinds of tools for developing your spiritual connection to God and to others, from a myriad of sources and traditions.. . * Who can come?. Are you breathing? Are you interested in exploring a deeper connection with the Divine, and with the divine nature in others? Do you live in or near Southeastern CT? If you answered yes to any of those questions – you are welcome! This is a community, meaning a group of people who actively support, challenge and encourage each other in our spiritual . development. We’d like to serve each other as well as our broader community. It's a small group atmosphere - so there's lots of love to go around!. . * Is there a charge?. Not really. We don’t want anyone to think they can’t afford to come. But we do have to pay for the time and space. So we have an anonymous donation basket. If you can contribute even $10 per week, that would be great. If you can’t, we understand. If you can donate a bit more as you feel led, we appreciate that! If you want to contribute in other ways, we appreciate that too! We all have some gift to share; time, talents, gifts and expertise. But we don’t want this to be about the money. No pledges, no pressure!.
