Detailed description is Tualatin High School's Robotics Program mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and to foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership skills. Tualatin High Robotics consists of many different groups. First Tech Challenge (FTC) and First Robotics Challenge (FRC) are two programs that are part of FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). . . FTC focuses on the basics of robotics: brainstorming, problem solving, programming, and building. Students build and compete table top robotics. . . FRC is our varsity robotics team. In six weeks, students brainstorm, design, fabricate, build, and program large scale robots to compete in local and national competitions. . . The Oregon Game Programming Challenge (OGPC) and the Willamette Programming Competitions are programming competitions. OGPC students write, create art work, program, and compete computer games. The Willamette Programming Competition is for advanced programming students who are given difficult programming challenges to solve in a one day programming marathon event. . . Finally, Innovation Academy connects students with businesses to create products to solve issues within their school and community.
