Detailed description is Union Church, in union with God and our community History of Union United Methodist Church:. The history of Union church dates from 1868 when the first chapel was built. The land was bought from for the sum of $50.00 “for a Sabbath School and place of worship for the Methodist Episcopal Church.” The old building was moved back to be used as a hall and the new structure was erected. In 1926 the old church building, which had been used for a hall, was torn down. A new hall was built. The church hall was enlarged in 1940. An addition was added to the kitchen and a small room. In 1959 another room was added. Today the church hall is used as an Education Building. Union Church stands stately and well preserved. Her slender white tower, reaching above a beautiful sanctuary, is a noble monument to the inspiration of the human soul. Union Church stands serenely like a mighty chapel against the winds of winter and storms of sin. That is Union’s unspoken sermon to the community and to the travelers on the highway.. .
