Detailed description is BLS aims to provide our students a platform to build up your confidence in public speaking, communication & leadership skills. Affiliated with Toastmasters International as a Gavel Club and Guild of Students at University of Birmingam, the Birmingham Lion Speaker (formerly known as University of Birmingham Toastmasters society), formed in 2013, aims to provide an encouraging atmosphere for its member to practise their confidence in public speaking and leadership skills. . . Our meetings are on Thursdays 6-8pm University of Birmingham different function rooms (from 6th October,2016 and after meetings will be held in Art Building lecture room 2.. . . As a BLS Gavelier, members are aimed to practise their skills in giving a speech and leading a meeting. Recognition of Competent Gavelier Communicator (CGC) and Competent Gavelier Leader (CGL) will be given upon completion of the Toastmasters manuals by the Toastmasters International.
