Detailed description is Kids University is a summer recreational day camp with the right combination of recreational and educational activities to produce a fun hands-on summer learning experience for children ages 8-12. The camp will run for five weeks -- weekdays, starting Monday, June 11 and running to July 2012. We will not have camp the week of July 2-6.. . Each week has its own special theme which instructors, guest speakers and visitors bring to life through disciplines such as art, computers, health, writing, science, math and history. Campers are grouped according to grade level, with rising third graders and rising fourth graders grouped together and rising fifth and rising sixth graders combined. The theme for the week will be the same for both groups. However, the level of content presented is a little higher for older children. This is a real community program offered in partnership with the Griffin-Spalding County School System and several local sponsors.. . Parents may sign up for one week or all five. Come for half the day and have lunch. Or, come for the full day have lunch and experience many memorable activities and field trips!
