Detailed description is Sigma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Alpha Delta Pi Sorority was founded on May 15th, 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, GA as the first secret society for women, originally known as the Adelphean Society. Founded on the values of high scholarship, lasting sisterhood, leadership, and service, ADPi continues to provide outstanding women with lifelong opportunities to both maximize their college experience and build bonds of sisterhood. Our members have the privilege of being a part of a tradition that has lasted over 150 years and that connects women around the world. . . The Sigma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi was founded at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on March 28, 1912. We were the 19th chapter to be founded. Currently, we are the eleventh oldest chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. Our chapter members can be seen around the campus participating in everything from varsity sports to campus music and theatrical productions and countless clubs, all while maintaining academic excellence in a wide array of majors. Our chapter participates in many Greek-Sponsored philanthropic events and hosts an event each semester to benefit our national philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House, including our annual Spring All-American ADPicnic BBQ Dinner. . . Sigma Chapter has the privilege to call a gorgeous, 1920's three-story house in Urbana, home. Many of our members live in here and all are welcome to meet at our chapter house for meals, studying, and just hanging out. In the Spring of 2012, our chapter celebrated our Centennial Anniversary of being at the University of Illinois.. .
