Detailed description is The Hispanic Engineering, Science & Technology (HESTEC) HESTEC features different events geared towards specific audiences. Each HESTEC event focuses on empowering teachers and administrators with the resources to inspire their students to pursue STEM careers (Educator Day); engaging secondary level students in STEM-related hands-on activities and presentations (Student Leadership Day, Latina Day, Robotics Day, Middle School Challenge and SeaPerch Challenge); providing university students with employment and internship opportunities (College Symposiums and Fall Career Expo); and involving the community as a whole (Community Day). By communicating with these constituents, HESTEC has changed perceptions of and garnered support for STEM education at all levels.
