Detailed description is The Wakefield Bistro was housed in the Historic Wakefield Hotel in the lovely Village of Wakefield. 25 minutes South/west of Nelson City. . Over the last 10 months the Historic Wakefield hotel has had thousands of Man Hours spent on it to revamp and renovate this old girl back to some Glory. The New owners, the Verco Family have a long affiliation with the Hotel and were previous owners back in the 60's. This has meant there is more than just money and hard work been put into the renovations, a lot of Love for this old Girl has now given her back Dignity and Class. The upstairs has had a complete over hall and the Accommodation is looking Amazing with some on-suite rooms, and all new Bathrooms. Much work has been behind walls and unseen but the overall finish is Beautiful.. The Same can be said for the new Dinning area. THE WAKEFIELD BISTRO. The Transformation from old and Drab to Bright and welcoming is Amazing. Customers feel instantly at ease in the light airy space with a reflection to the old buildings history. A lot of time has been spent to keep as much of the classic old buildings features and enhance the area with Wall paper feature walls and soon to arrive plush curtains. The Newly installed French doors open the Entrance Way to much needed light and fit with the character of the building. There is still work to be done but our returning customers appreciate that we are a work in progress and they are themselves enjoying seeing the transformation of this classic Hotel unfold.
