Detailed description is We WILL Grow School and Community Garden Program offers Will County residents and schools the opportunity to grow fresh and healthy food. The We WILL Grow School and Community Garden Program pioneered by Kathy Pecora of the Will County Land Use Department, Resource, Recovery, and Energy Division was created with Will County resident's health and access to fresh, nutritious food in mind. Gardens within this program are inclusive of residential, school, and veteran. Some gardens will use the food they grow for personal consumption, such as our Ludeman Developmental Center Garden, others donate their yields, such as our William E Young School Garden. Despite the food's destination, the growing experience in each of our gardens gives those involved, be it students or seniors, a greater understanding of gardening techniques, a sense of accomplishment, and a closer connection to the journey of food growth. We are always looking to grow our program and offer better access to fresh, healthy food and the growing experience for Will County residents. . .
