Detailed description is Wilderness Wheelers is a group of ATV enthusiasts; promoting safety and training for youth, promoting good trail etiquette while out riding. The Wilderness Wheelers ATV club was established in 1991 and currently consists of 42 members based in Bigfork, MN. We have been working with Itasca County to create safe and legal ATV trails in the area. We applied for, and received County approval to open Co Rd 262 & 253 (otherwise known as the Alder Road) for ATV travel in 2015. Our first off road trail, the B-B Connection will officially be open in the Spring of 2017. It is a 28 mile trail that runs from Bigfork to the Little Moose ATV trail near Balsam, MN. We are also working with the County on a proposed 50 mile trail that will be called the Wilderness trail, if approved. This trail will be a loop off of the B-B Connection and travel South to Marcell, then along the West side of Big Too Much lake towards Wirt, and back to the B-B Connection along the Jingo Lake Road.
