Detailed description is Windy River Elementary School is located in Boardman, Oregon and part of the Morrow County School District. We are 164 miles east of Portland Oregon on Interstate 84. The school sits a short distance off the historic Columbia River and a few miles north of the historic Oregon Trail. Windy River opened its doors for the first time in September of 2003 and housed fifth and sixth grade students. We now serve grades fourth, fifth and sixth grade classes. Our enrollment average is 220 students with an average classroom size of 25.. . Windy River is dedicated to serving our students and meeting their individual needs. Through our RTI and PLC process we are able to reach this goal. Currently our school has adopted the Journey’s Reading curriculum and Engage NY Math curriculum to support our students. We encourage students to take an active role in their learning process. Our after school program continues to develop. The foundation of this platform is to help students reach their full potential.. . As a school community we realize the critical role that parents play in the development of their child.
