The Women of the Church conference began with a conversation among friends sharing the hope sparked by Pope Francis’ call to give the Catholic Church “a more incisive female presence.”We have responded to that call with a conference to honor and support the work of women in the Church. The dream is becoming a reality through the partnership of the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand, Indiana, and Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology.. . The conference, “Women of the Church: Strength of the Past. Hope for Tomorrow. A Catholic Leadership Conference,” is planned for October 7-9, 2016, in Ferdinand, Indiana.We seek to make manifest the diverse work of Catholic women in the Church, in the past and present; to offer tools and resources for ongoing formation; and to encourage women who are exploring opportunities for ministry and leadership.. .
