WCWS is a continuation of the College's rich tradition of broadcasting that started when WABW came on the air in 1926, thanks to Victor Andrew's use of coaxial cable for radio purposes. For many years, WABW was broadcasted out of the physics department, but campus development soon blocked out the station's signal. WCW then came on the air after World War II and used the signal of WWST Radio in Wooster (now WQKT). The College purchased its own space on the radio dial in 1969, and the radio station was renamed WCWS. . . Ever since, WCWS has been a proud public service of The College of Wooster by providing a distinctive blend of music, sports, public affairs, and news. On a given week, you'll hear Beethoven to Bieber, from South Asian traditional music to the work of local artists. We strive to reflect diversity of ideas and to challenge the normal radio experience for the listener. WOO 91 is also the home for Fighting Scot Athletics, as our Sports Team covers a majority of women's and men's games throughout the season.
