Detailed description is In the early sixties an enthusiastic ,energetic Black man named Theodore Matthew Reynolds(TM) had a dream and a vision of some day being part owner and operator of a radio station . He pursued his vision and form a corporation known as EBONY ENTERPRISES .INC. Thought this corporation .WVOE-"The Voice of Ebony " and with a power of 1000 Watts on an assigned freguency of 1590 kilocycles. On April 24. 1962,WVOE began sending radio signals to the people of Southeastern North Carolina and Northeastern South Carolina. This station has not only provided employment for many people, it has served as a training station for disc jockeys and other employees now on National Radio and Television in various positions around the country.. The present program format consist of Gospel, R & B ,Jazz ,Southern soul, and Oldies .WVOE has a distinct sound different from most AM Radio stations in the area and a special program called " THE WOMANS WORLD PROGRAM" hosted by Mother Annie Mae Williamson with over 50 years on air.. The current WVOE staff includes: Willie J Walls,President/ general Manger and Sunday Morning Gospel DJ, Rev .Ronald Johnson Gospel DJ and Sales Manger,Mother Annie Mae Williamson, Woman,s World Program Hostess ,Minister Martha Mckoy, Gospel DJ/Book keeper, Tommy Brown Sr, Gospel DJ.Jeff McDowell DJ.
