Detailed description is Welcome! We promote Fun, Fitness, and Fellowship through Walking and Volkssporting under the umbrella of the American Volkssport Association (AVA) and IVV. Our story began in the 1980's with roots in Volksmarching. We were started by Linda Blanton and (we are currently gathering a list of our original members). We were first called the Xenia Peg Legs. The local high school mascot is a Buccaneer. Later in the 1990's we changed our name to the Xenia Waking Club (XWC). We have walks all over Greene County (Ohio) and neighboring counties in the Miami Valley. We meet every other month for a club meeting at one of the local restaurants for a dinner/meeting. See Upcoming Events for our next club meeting. You can walk for free at any of our events or pay a small fee of $3 for credit. Club membership is just $5 a year per family with proceeds going to local charities, for example the Greene County Foundation, but you do not have to be a Club Member to participant in any of our events.. . We fall under the umbrella of the Ohio Volkssport Association (OVA), the American Volkssport Association (AVA) at ava.org, and the International Federation of Popular Sports / Internationaler Volkssportverbund (IVV). . . We are a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization and we are not affiliated with the City of Xenia (Xenia, Ohio).
