Detailed description is YOMAD is a Non Profit Organization created to counsel, mentor & educate youth who are at-risk of homelessness, juvenile delinquency, truancy & illiteracy. Youth Out Making A Difference (YOMAD) was established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2016 by Lorenzo R. Jefferson Woods. Mr. Woods has five (5) years of mentoring and tutoring experience gained as co-owner of a child care facility in Philadelphia. With the rise in teen homelessness, abandonment, and crime. We wanted to create a program that would facilitate services designed to cater to the specific needs of Philadelphia’s "at risk" inner city youth between the ages of 13 and 19 years of age. The Program addresses the mental health, social, educational, and homeless needs among Philadelphia’s expanding troubled youth population. The program is a direct response to this growing population of youth falling through cracks at school or already entangled in the juvenile justice system. The road to child abandonment, juvenile delinquency and homelessness starts there, therefore the goal of this program is to identify youths who are going to have a turbulent transition to adulthood and offer positive support systems to avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives. In order to accomplish this, the program has formed partnerships with local schools, civic organization, government public assistance agencies and the Philadelphia juvenile court system..
