NEARLY a quarter of a million pounds of improvements have been promised to sort out Dalton’s pothole-filled roads.
The first of these works will take place on Market Street on Friday and the beginning of next week.
Dave Taylor, of the Dalton Community Action group, said: “On previous works all they have done is fill the potholes with grit and put tarmac over them.
“It gets knocked out straight away and it is really dangerous, especially for cyclists.
“We don’t want people to have an accident and end up in hospital coming up to Christmas.
“The chippings are an issue as they go all over the pavement when they get knocked out.
