Hyderabad: The state health officials tracing the more than 1,000 UK returnees were in problem yesterday following the fact that 279 of them could not be tracked.
Yesterday, two more people, along with three contacts of the returnees, tested positive for Covid taking the count to 21. 16 passengers have tested positive for Covid over the last two days. Dr G. Srinivasa Rao, director of public health of the state told the Times of India, “We have forwarded their details to respective state governments so that they can help with tracing these returnees. Search is on to find the rest. All the 21 have been kept in special wards in various hospitals. We have sent samples of the 18 UK returnees for testing to the CCMB to see if they are of the new variant of the virus. The results are expected in another two days.”
