KETCHIKAN (KDN) â The local Emergency Operations Center announced five new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, setting Ketchikanâs total of active COVID-19 infections at 57 as of that evening.
Two of the five cases charted on Wednesday were reported to the EOC after Tuesday eveningâs daily press release was issued, according to the EOCâs Wednesday statement.
âOf the five cases, one was determined to be related to recent travel; one case was determined to be a close contact to a known positive case, and three are under investigation,â the EOC release read.
Two cases still had ongoing contact tracing investigations, according to EOC data. Two of the three cases identified on Wednesday involved individuals who were unvaccinated but eligible for vaccination, and one case involved an individual who was not eligible to be vaccinated.
