Tainan, Feb. 24 (CNA) The Tainan branch of the Taiwan High Court on Wednesday overturned a lower court's acquittal of a man charged with homicide for stabbing a railway policeman who bled to death by sentencing him to 17 years in jail.
The court announced its verdict via video conference, and the defendant, a man in his mid-50s identified by his family name Cheng (鄭), showed no emotion when he heard his fate.
