Charges laid after alleged fatal Sunshine Coast hit and run

A 25-year-old Sunshine Coast man has been charged after an alleged hit-and-run in Maroochydore in the early hours of New Year's Day that left a man dead.
At 1.30am, emergency services were called to Maroochy Boulevard where a 21-year-old Minyama man was unconscious on the side of the road.
Paramedics provided first aid but the man died at the scene a short time later. Police said initial investigations suggested the man might have been hit by a vehicle and its the driver did not stop at the scene.
