Helen J. Seufert,

Of El Prado, died December 18, 2020 peacefully in her home. Helen was born in Bangor, Maine on March 2, 1935.  Growing up in various east coast locations, she became a registered nurse and entered the Army Nurse Corps. in 1955.  She continued her education earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of Pennsylvania and master’s degree from the University of North Carolina. During her military career, Helen served in Viet Nam receiving the Meritorious Service Award as well as the Bronze Star. In 1980, Colonel Seufert retired from the military.  Moving to New Mexico in 2005, Helen was a lifelong learner whose love of the arts was highlighted through furniture making and various art mediums. Helen is survived by Jane Gierhart of El Prado, loving friends, and family here in Taos as well as across the country.
