WINCHENDON — An Athol company has been hired to provide a temporary fix to a long-term problem in Winchendon.
Legrand Masonry, Inc. is reinforcing the east wall of the clock tower at Old Murdock, the former school constructed in the 1880s. The brick facing on the wall collapsed about six weeks ago, adding to the overall amount of work that will need to be done if the historic structure is to be saved.
