SME is chosen to provide soft shelters under JP2060 Phase 3.
Saab Australia has chosen New South Wales-based SME Global Defence Solutions (GDS) as preferred supplier of soft shelters under the JP2060 Phase 3 Deployable Health Capability (DHC) programme.
The two companies also signed an MoU to pave the way for future cooperation on ‘complementary capabilities in deployable force infrastructure’, Saab noted in a 16 December statement.
On 24 September, the Australian Department of Defence awarded Saab an A$337 million ($) contract for JP2060 Phase 3.
GDS will join Saab and its capability partners Aspen Medical, Philips Healthcare Australia & NZ, Broadspectrum and Marshall Land Systems to deliver and support deployable military and humanitarian hospitals for use in Australia and overseas.
