Bank, Rotary club plan downtown murals to honor pioneering female CEO

LANCASTER - The Lancaster Sherman Rotary and Park National Bank have commissioned two related murals in Center Alley to honor the glasswork of Fran Taylor and the artisans of Gay Fad Studios.
Gay Fad Studios existed from 1939 to1963 in the city with Taylor being the rare female CEO of a company then.
One mural will go on the bank building and another on part of the wall of Provisions Bakery & Deli off Main Street. Jason Annecy is the muralist.
The studios produced and sold designs using glassware from Anchor Hocking around the world.
The murals will highlight those designs with a plaque honoring Taylor and the studios to come later.
