The frim says it received 3,000 reports of Sexual Assaults related to its trips in the United States in 2018, out of roughly 1. 3 billion rides. Uber is under pressure from regulators in many cities over safety and security. So it now releases an annual safety report. It says 99. 9 of all of its 2. 3 billion us trips in 2017 and 2018 ended without any safety incidents. Lets get more from our business correspondent, theo leggett. The 99 point 7 sounds pretty good but it is an issue that has plagued uber above all 99 point something. It has led to problems in the past and the company has been accused of failing to respond adequately to reports of Sexual Harassment and things like that and not taking action, trying to keep things private, forcing people into arbitration and generally not recognising what was going on. Depends on what service you are looking at, if you are looking at Something Like youtube undoubtably the biggest streaming service in the world, as a songwriter, we probably get about, if we have written the whole song, which these days is very rare, if you have a hit song, then you would get about £100 for 1 million streams. You are not going to get rich on youtube. You get a bit more, maybe ten times as much if you are on spotify or apple but it is still not a huge amount because 1 million streams, back in the day, how many downloads or cds that would be. Quite enlightening. Does it lead to the unintended consequence that if touring becomes such an important source of income, it is giving fans more of a chance than ever to see their favourite artists live in arenas and stadiums around the world . So we need to kind of feed the musicians and the song writers who are making the music that then feeds the touring business and the branding business.
