John Mayer's transition from pop star to guitar hero wasn't easy, but he made it happen with a little help from his friends.
So when Mayer wanted to try stand-up comedy, he turned to another longtime pal,
Saget says he met Mayer circa 2003 and asked him to play a benefit for his Scleroderma Research Foundation. Mayer accepted the offer, played the benefit and he and Saget struck up a friendship.
"And then he wanted to do stand-up," Saget recalled to Q104.3 New York Jim Kerr and Shelli Sonstein Tuesday morning. "So I took him to a club in L.A., the Laugh Factory, and he did it and it was the first time and he had a couple of good laughs."
