"It doesn't make any sense. It's not like they can recycle it and get money out of it. I don't understand why people do these things."The statue, which stood just a few feet high, was part of St. Joseph's 2020-21 sculpture walk, where every year, the Allied Arts Council purchases one sculpture and donates it to the city to help build up the city's number of statues."All of the sculptures are for sale that we bring in downtown," Boerkircher said. "We usually purchase one every year and donate it to the city of St. Joseph for permanent display."Boekircher says each statue is insured, and the Allied Arts Council is already in the process of planning the next Sculpture Walk for this coming June.Anyone who has any information the missing statue is encouraged to contact the St. Joseph Police Department at 816-271-4777.
