CLEVELAND, Ohio —— Sheldon Richardson sat out Wednesday’s practice with his neck injury, but is expected to play against Sunday against the Jets, coach Kevin Stefanski said.
Selected by the Jets in the first round of the 2013 draft and to the Seahawks in 2017, Richardson suffered the neck injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s 20-6 victory over the Giants and didn’t return. But Myles Garrett said after the game that he was joking around in the locker room and seemed fine.
Richardson has made big plays almost every week, including combining to stop New York’s Wayne Gallman on the fourth and 2 from the Browns’ in the first half of the game. In Tennessee, Richardson stopped Derrick Henry on fourth and 1 on the Jets’ opening drive and then forced him to fumble on their second drive.
