CDC updates mask guidelines, but life won't change unless New York changes mandate

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The CDC says if you're fully vaccinated you're no longer required to wear a mask while being in a crowd outdoors, and for most indoor settings.
Just don't ditch your mask so fast. Albany has yet to accept this latest guideline from the CDC. News10NBC talked to one local doctor to find out when it is actually safe to go maskless.
It's being called a major step towards returning to a pre-pandemic life, but there are still many places where you must wear a mask until the New York State updates current guidelines.
