Dozens of people flocked to the opening of a new skatepark in Chesham seven years ago as it was finally unveiled after a two-year wait.
Youngsters queued up to be among the first to have a go on the new facility in Lowndes Park, after the then-Chesham mayor Mark Shaw cut the ribbon to officially declare it open on April 6, 2014.
Would-be users had been given the chance to pick the design they liked the best out of those put forward when the town council first announced plans to replace the old worn-out skatepark two years previously, in 2012.
Work to install it then started in February 2014 once Biffa contributed the final £25,000 needed, after the Paradigm Foundation donated £10,000 and the then-Buckinghamshire County Council stumped up a further £5,000.
