The K9s working for Independence and Clayton County have proven to be two of the best in the state.
Independence Police Department K9 Tyton and Officer Cass and Clayton County K9 Raven and Handler Matt Moser attended the U.S. Police Canine Association’s Narcotics Detection Trials in Fort Madison this week.
Their skills were tested in room searches and vehicle searches – competing against fifty other K9 teams from across Iowa.
K9 Tyton took first place in the room search competition. K9 Raven achieved first place in the vehicle search portion of the competition.
And it may not be a coincidence that the two local dogs finished at the top of their class – Independence Police say the two dogs are siblings.
