Council votes to change name of Dewdney Pool to Buffalo Meadows Pool Back to video
In the immediate, following the vote, city administration plans that when the weather warms and public pools reopen to hold a ceremony at the newly named Buffalo Meadows Pool.
Part of the report presented to council touched on Edgar Dewdney’s legacy by saying he was “a historical figure who was directly responsible for the development and administration of harmful policies towards Indigenous peoples, including establishing and providing oversight for residential schools.”
