While Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Meghan McCreary was unable to find that McDormand played a direct role in the fatal attack, she nonetheless found he aided and abetted St. Pierre.
McDormand initially appealed both his conviction and sentence but has since abandoned the conviction appeal. On Thursday, his lawyer Thomas Hynes argued the sentence appeal and additionally asked the court to consider a fresh-evidence application.
