Relations with iran. Mike pompeo, steve mnuchin, and others joined the president. On the phone, we have some terrific people, the chairman and Prime Minister of sudan, a beautiful part of the world. And Prime Minister benjamin netanyahu, i think you mostly know him. We have the very highly sophisticated press. I think they may have heard of him, of israel. I want to congratulate all of you, the state of israel and the republic of sudan have agreed to make peace. For many years, they have been , andds, to put it nicely to normalize their relations. This will be the third country where we are doing this and we have many, many more coming. They are coming at us hot and heavy. In the coming weeks, they will meet to negotiate cooperation agreements. You saw that happen with the uae and bahrain recently. Technology, migration and other critical areas. This comes after the groundbreaking agreement between israel and the United Arab Emirates and israel o and bahrain. That was very historic, a great, very historic day. Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, three months ago, nobody thought this would be possible. Now, multiple arab countries across two continents have made peace with israel. Again, we have many lined up. They want to come in, they want to get the deal done. They all see it. No blood in the sand, no blood. There has been no blood in the sand. It was common sense. It should have been done this way long time ago. Its a very special deal. For much of recent history, the people of sudan were rolled over by brutal islamic dictatorships. It was the home of osama bin laden, a place of terror, genocide, and many other tragedies. Today, the great people of sudan are in charge, new democracy is taking root. The two people i just mentioned are highly respected leaders. The sudanese Transitional Government has demonstrated its commitment to combating terrorism, creating market economy, and developing the Democratic Institution that is that isdays deal becoming. Todays deal marks a pivotal turning point incidents history in sudans history. This is one of the great days in the history of sudan. This is a great deal for israel and sudan, who for decades has been at a state of war with israel. They have been in a state of war and boycotted israeli goods. Todays Peace Agreement will enhance israels security and put an end to this long isolation from the world because of what was taking place. It will unlock new opportunities for trade and commerce, education, research, and cooperation and friendship of both peoples. I want to thank the leaders of sudan. Thank you very much for being with us. Of course, benjamin for the incredible work that you do constantly. We have had a tremendous relationship. There has never been a relationship where israel and the United States were so close. I would say a few years ago, there has probably never been a time where it was so far apart, so distant. This is a show of faith, courage, and leadership which has forged this agreement. The United States stands with all of you and all of the nations that seek peace and cooperation. Again, we will be signing many nations over the next coming weeks and months, including some very big ones. Its very exciting actually, its peace in the middle east without bloodshed. It should have been done this way a long time ago. The palestinians, by the way, if you ask about them, they are wanting to do something. They have never seen anything like this. They are wanting to do something. I am sure that will get done. I would like to congratulate everybody on the phone. I dont know if you have interpreters are needed the interpreters for that. If you do, you can go forward, interpreters, if you need them. [over the phone] [indiscernible] thank you, President Trump. Thank you, Prime Minister netanyahu for the call and congratulations. I look forward to cooperation. Thank you so much. Pres. Trump thank you very much. That was beautifully stated and i appreciate it. Would you like to Say Something . I want to say that we are expanding the circle of rapidly. History in the making. Actually, we are all making history, from the emirates to bukharin bahrain, now with sudan and other countries that are in line. Region, changes the changes the lives of all our people for the better. It allows us to focus on the task of building nations, building our future, agriculture, technology, environment, health, everything. I think we can do it better together. With your help, the help of the United States, the possibilities are infinite. We used to say in the middle east, the sky is the limit, but now, we dont even have that, because the skies are limitless. We fly over, saudi arabia, we fly to bahrain, fly to the emirates, everybody flies to us. Its just a new world and i cannot tell you how excited we cooperating with everyone, cooperating with sudan to build a Better Future for both of us. It is a glorious day for peace. I want to thank you again, mr. President , for everything you are doing. Pres. Trump even the media is very excited about it. Everybody is excited about it. As you know, because you are negotiating, talking to people, but they are falling into line. Everybody is going to be involved in this very shortly. Who knows, i cannot exactly put a date on it, but within a few number of months, everybody is going to be in this deal. Its the way it should have been done a long time ago. We did it the opposite way, exactly the opposite way, and we took a lot of abuse from the people that were unable to make a deal for 40 years. This has gone very quickly, very nicely, very inexpensively, and with no blood, so we are very happy about that. Like to sayy else something and then i will have the press as . Perhaps they might have a question for you. I think the coming agreement ,ill strengthen our relations as well as the rest of local, Regional Security and peace. [indiscernible] thank you, mr. President. Thank you, mr. Prime minister netanyahu. Thank you for your support from the beginning. Hank you pres. Trump thank you very much. Mike pompeo, would you Say Something . Secretary of state. Secretary pompeo i want to thank Prime Minister netanyahu, the chairman for their hard work over the past months to get to a place which will increase peace and prosperity throughout not only the middle east, but in north africa, its a good thing for the whole world today, mr. President. Pres. Trump it certainly is. Jared kushner . I think today is another great example of what is possible when you have strong and smart American Leadership in the middle east and throughout the world. For those who follow the history of this conflict, the significance of this cannot be overstated enough. You had a situation in 1967, the arab league met in sudan and in khartoum. They have the declaration, what became known as the three nos for the arab league, no peace, no recognition, no negotiation. Now, we have peace, recognition, negotiation for even more peace. This is a tremendous acceleration of the turning point that President Trump has been able to accomplish in the region. I do really believe that we are seeing this pickup more and more. We have more countries that will be making peace with israel. We are confident that the israelipalestinian conflict will be resolved as well. I do think that will allow us to focus on reducing extremism and terrorism, and also reducing antisemitism throughout the world. Both of those cannot be understated enough as big accomplishments. I will just say that finally, if you look at where sudan was 2016 compared to where they are now, there is no better partner than america and thats what you are seeing with sudan and the middle east. I will say as well that these Peace Agreements are not as easy as President Trump and his team are making them look. These are very hard agreements. These are conflicts that have gone on for decades in many regards. Getting people to resolve these conflicts and focus on how you can create a broader Brighter Future is just a tremendous thing that makes america safer and the world a better place. Thank you, mr. President , for your leadership. Pres. Trump when jared said that, its true. They have been going on for, you could say centuries in some cases. They have been going at it for many decades. It is just falling into place. It was the right system and all falling. Robert obrien . Mr. Obrien mr. President come thank you. Thank you to the members of your team that have worked so diligently, jared and the secretary, secretary mnuchin, secretary pompeo, under your direction. What i said early on is that your legacy, mr. President , would be that of a peacemaker. Pres. Trump nobody would believe that. Obrien i think it has shown a tremendous amount of courage for you to put your Political Capital and leadership at risk. It shows a tremendous amount of courage with the leaders who are on the phone, the Prime Minister of israel, the Prime Minister of sudan, the chairman, the council of the sudan, the king, crown prince. En a tremendous amount courage. Secretary pompeo signed a Peace Agreement with the taliban. We have not had a combat death in afghanistan since february. Pres. Trump think of that. In afghanistan, we have not had a combat death since february. Thats a long time ago. Im in, that is something that is very nice. Thats got a beautiful ring to it. You brought normalization to the serbian kosovo. Kosovo is another muslim majority nation that has recognized israel to move their embassy to jerusalem. I think you and the team that you put together has just done a tremendous job writing piece to the world bringing peace to the world, which in turn brings peace to the American People and allows us to keep our sons and daughters who serve in uniform here at home and not out in the world in other places. Pres. Trump thank you. Mr. President , congratulations on another incredible achievement with this Peace Agreement between sudan and israel. I just returned from representing you in the region. I was in abu dhabi representing you at the first ever Abraham Accords business summit between israel and uae. And seeing the leaders about those countries and the Business People now interacting together and doing business was extraordinary, and also in bahrain. Sing the region under your leadership united against the terrorist acts from iran and the issues in iran, you have brought peace and stability to the region and security. Pres. Trump its a much different place. President , the arabisraeli conflict is moving towards its end. This was diplomacy led by the president that started with two Peace Agreements in the middle east and has now spread to africa. The president has stood with israel and countered iran. That has given space for our arab partners to move closer to israel. This is now the third defeat for irans Foreign Policy and it is another victory for america. Pres. Trump had we not done what we did with iran, this could not have worked. That was a horrible setback. Many were against it at the time , but thats what the problem was. It was not well done, not well executed. That agreement is practically over, and we let the agreement stay. It is practically over and that would have been a pathway to Nuclear Weapons. We will never let iran have Nuclear Weapons. Thank you you, mr. President. Congratulations. It is worth reiterating that these deals, the third arab league country to recognize israel, is only possible because of your leadership. This would not have happened because of President Trump. The possibilities are endless because of your leadership. Hopefully, more and more countries will join. Pres. Trump so they have been working on those. How many years have they been working approximately . I have been talking about it for 25 years, but, mr. President , it is a fact that it was your involvement that accelerated everything. When i met the chairman in uganda and africa, in africa, i hoped we could reach the this day. It took your leadership, your team, and the courage of the leaders of sudan and their wisdom to join all of us in this historic odyssey. An odyssey is a long journey. This is like an express train moving. One reinforces the other. I am very excited by the new future for israel answer done and sudan. I am very excited for a new future for israel and other countries, which you and i know, mr. President , are ready to join us. This is the beginning of something, or the continuation of something very, very profound and big. Its a change of history. Pres. Trump how does it feel flying thosepres. Trump beautiful airliners right over the top of uae . You never thought that was going to happen, right . People are flying in the open. Overare actually flying what used to be unthinkable wereses of land that basically in a belligerent state with us. Israelis want to fly to bahrain. Very soon, we would like to fly to sudan. We would like to have joint entrepreneurs, joint ventures, tourism, everything. Thishas changed under vision of peace is that it does not have to be a zerosum game. It can be a winwinwinwin. I would say winwin, but there are so many wins here that we should continue. That is the remarkable change that you have brought forward in this area. With such anhappen active, i would say, positive positiondent american that just threw away the board and said, we are starting anew. Pres. Trump so we have many countries, as you know, getting ready. I am sure you will see saudi arabia there very soon. I really believe that will happen, too. Very good relations with saudi arabia. You will see something very special. This is already special but we are going to be signing numerous countries in the nottoodistant future, so that will be great. How is the dam doing in it the opiod . The in ethiopia . The largest dam in many years being built. It stops water from flowing into the nile, which causes you in little bit of a problem, right . As it should. I have been dealing with sudan on that. I am just curious, how is that going . Because you are really the third party involved with ethiopia and egypt and the dam. Are they working out the deal . Because i had a deal done for them, and then unfortunately, ethiopia broke the deal, which was a big mistake. We have stopped payment to them because they did it. They will never see that money unless they adhere to the agreement. They built the dam which stops water from flowing into the nile. You cannot blame egypt for being a little bit upset, right . How are they doing with that . Do you know . I think they need a lot of help to resolve it. Pres. Trump i was actually , talking to the chairman, the Prime Minister. How are you doing . That. T want to answer appreciatery much washington. [indiscernible] reach [indiscernible] we hope to reach an amicable solution soon for this. Pres. Trump i had a deal done and then they broke the deal. They cannot do that, they cannot do that. So, the deal was done. Egypt is not going to be able to live that way. They will end up blowing up the dam. They will blow up that dam and they have to do something. Whatever you can do to get ethiopia to do that, they are going to have to come ok . Off all pigment. It was payment. It was negotiated for five years and longer than that. They cannot make the deal and i got the deal done. They are getting ready to sign the deal and they broke the deal, which is not good. Whatever you can do, Prime Minister, if you could, that would be great, ok . Tell them theyve got to get it done. I am telling egypt the same thing, by the way. Because they should have stopped at long before it was started. I said, how do you let it get built . They had other things on their mind. That was at a time when they were having a minor revolution, to put it mildly. That was a bad time for egypt, so i guess they had other things on their mind. So you will work on that, sudan. Thank you very much. Do you have any questions for sudan or for benjamin . Only for them. More broadly for you, you referenced some other countries. Can you give us a sense of which countries those are . You said the palestinians want to do something. Can you give us an update on the status of those . David they are both just statements pres. Trump they are both just statements. We have many countries wanting to come in. Sudan wanted to do a deal. They were essentially at war with israel for a long time. I dont know if it was fighting, i dont know that. Probably there has been a little bit. For many years, you have been officially at war with sudan. Not only the deal was signed, but its peace, so its official. We have at least five that want to come in and we will have more very soon. Want to come into the deal. In other words, part of the peace deal. You know what it is costing the United States . Nothing, nothing. It is so nice. Isnt that nice . When i say nothing. Why should we be paying . We are settling places like kosovo and serbia. We are doing a trade deal, two trade deals, and they were killing each other all the time for 25 years. We are doing trade with each country, why dont we just settle it up so you dont have to kill each other . We settled a deal. We do a lot of things that people dont know about, fellas. Any other questions . Can you walk us through what normalized relations main . Mean . Pres. Trump can you answer that . I will give you an example. Into aays ago, i went port. There was a huge container ship that came in from the emirates come ok emirates, ok. These were the First Container ships coming from the freetrade area in dubai. They had washing machines. That is bringing down the price, the costofliving for citizens of israel right away. Its trade, ok. Israelis could never fly east. We had to go around the red sea, around the arabian peninsula. It would take us hours to get anywhere, let alone to get into the arabian peninsula, because we did not have any relations that. Now, people are planning tourism offices from israel, all the tourism agents flocking to abu dhabi and dubai and bahrain. They are now just loaded with requests from israelis. Believe it or not, the other way s and emiratii s want to come. Each of us has what it has to offer the other. It changes the lives of people. Exactly as you said, mr. President , we are not engaging in bloodshed, antagonism. We are engaging in cooperation for the present and future. It is not a distant vision. It is not a dream. We are actually seeing the fruits of peace right now in these days, days after signing these agreements. We have never seen anything like this. I want icy and enthusiasm for most countries in the world and most people in the world. Unhappy, but most everybody else is happy but they should be because peace is a good thing. What does it feel like . It is amazing and fast. Pres. Trump and also iran is poor. They are all poor and they were not poor three years ago, they were blowing everything up. Do you think sleepy joe could have made this deal . Do you think he would have made this deal . Somehow, i dont think so. One thing i can tell you is we appreciate the help for peace from anyone in america and we appreciate what you have done. You [indiscernible] will be in the history books. History registers who did what what it pres. Trump it is a terrific thing. Could you expand on [indiscernible] pres. Trump i think ultimately iran could become a member of this whole thing if you want to know the truth. Togetherhave everybody with the United States and beyond the United States, other major powers involved, and with it. Love to help iran and get them back on track, their gdp went down 27 , they went from a rich country to a poor country in three years and i would love to get that back on track but they cannot have Nuclear Weapons. It is always death to israel, thats all they shout. They cannot have Nuclear Weapons but they can have what they want. They should be a great nation, they are great people, i know so many iranians. We want it to be a great nation but we cannot have Nuclear Weapons. Sounds right now it doesnt sound like something that would happen but i can see it happening. Ultimately it will be a unified family. Inbably has never happened the middle east because the middle east is known for conflict and fighting. [indiscernible] no, but the process is moving along, it is a good process. Weve had an incredible relationship longterm, weve never had a dispute with uae. That process is moving along hopefully rapidly. [indiscernible] pres. Trump which plans . The dam . [indiscernible] pres. Trump i will let you answer that. We have been working with sudan as long as ive been in the administration to address statesponsored terrorism and they did all of the things they need to do. These leaders did everything they needed to do. The rationale for them designated safe sponsors made sense. We wanted to make sure victims of terror had up in session so millionave that, 235 will go to the victims of the terror attacks. Sudan has complied, the leaders have done good work and we want them to be successful, so it is appropriate we would lift this. It will also help the sudanese people and government. You will see trade not only dan but israel and sue the u. S. And sudan. Pres. Trump they have Great Potential and it could be a wonderful country and i think it will be, it has been hampered. [indiscernible] the sudanese leadership, it made sense, it made sense to the sudanese people to create Democratic Institutions and all of the things the people have been demanding, they are connected in the sense that the driving leadership is toward improve life for the people of sudan and the broader region in north africa. Pres. Trump and with the leaders on the phone, theyve been incredible leaders. Incredible leaders. You have great leadership. Hitting the road in the next couple of days, are you envisioning a meeting with the sudanese or israel is . And what is it like doing this while you are campaigning . [indiscernible] [laughter] pres. Trump these are all things ive been working on. The Campaign Begins i think we will have time to be very successful. Weve gotten great reviews, great polls, great everything. 91 . It was certainly an exciting night. This is my day job, i have to do this. [indiscernible] pres. Trump we will have them and some other countries that you will be hearing about coming probably simultaneously and ultimately we will have a big reunion at the end where everybody is here and everybody will be signed and we expect saudi arabia to be one of those countries, and highly respected, the king and crown prince, they are all hiring all highly respected in the middle east. He is really a great warrior. We will come together and have a big, Beautiful Party at the end and you will be there. Anybody else have a question . [indiscernible] [indiscernible] you seemed much more calm and measured at the podium. Was that you trying to change your strategy or what was going through your mind . I think the other is more effective in terms of his nest of business and life. The first one, i thought i did great. This is better and this is the more popular way of doing it. Rules,d to play by the they felt very strongly about it. I am able to do different styles. This seemed to be more popular. Would you do another debate . That trump jacob yeah, i dont see any reason to. We are leading in a lot of states people dont know about. [indiscernible] pres. Trump i always take responsibility and of done a great job and the people around me have done a great job. The pandemic, people, what theyve done for ventilators and equipment and stocking governors who had nothing on their shelves. Those governors, if they are honest, they will tell you we did the best job theyve ever seen. I had a governor tell me i did the best job theyd ever seen. We made a lot of governors look good and there are a lot of good governors who did a good job, but they have nothing, they did not have ventilators or accounts or masks or goggles or anything and we got them. Ventilators are tough. Not one person with all of this going on, not one person who needed a ventilator did not get it and that is not true in other countries. In other countries, very few people could get we are supplying ventilators to other countries because they are hard to make an complex and very expensive. I think weve done a great job. [indiscernible] pres. Trump i think we can, sure. The president has been clear in his instructions to me that if we can get the right deal, we will do that. We have been speaking to the speaker. Withve offered compromises the speaker on a number of issues. She is still dug in and if she wants to compromise, there will be a deal, but weve made lots of progress and lots of areas but there are still significant differences we are working on. Pres. Trump i said it last night loud and clear, she wants to bailout poorly run democrat states, they are poorly run in terms of crime and economics, and we dont want that. We want covid related. She wants to bailout poorly run democrat states and thats a problem because youre talking about tremendous amounts of money and we do not want to reward areas of the country that have not done a good job and a lot of those areas have not done a good job on medical and covid, frankly, if you look at new york and some others, it has been very rough. We dont want to do that. We are talking and we will see what happens, but at this moment i will say i think nancy would rather wait until after the election, she thinks it is a good point for the election but i think it is against her because the American People know it is her stopping the money going to them. I believe it, i think she views it as a good election point, perhaps, good for november 3. I would like to see the people get the money, i dont think she wants the people to get the money before the election. I dont think that is a good point for her, we want the people to get the money it was not their fault, it was chinas fault, the plague came from china. No, that is enough. [indiscernible] pres. Trump we are talking about it, were talking with armenia, we have a good relationship. They are dedicated, incredible people. I dont want to say but we will see what happens. Really Good Progress is being made with respect to that. Armenia is we have a lot of people thing in this country originally from armenia and they are great people and we will help them, ok . [indiscernible] pres. Trump i think at the very end, iran, i could see that. I would say that. Sure, go ahead. [indiscernible] this is the largest mask i think ive ever seen, i dont know if you can hear him, when it is know finished up and everybody is in the deal, i said i would not be surprised to see iran being friendly. I think iran will be some way involved. What do you think . I was beginning to say that when i spoke to the american congress, i did not say i was opposed to any deal, i was opposed to that deal. It had all kind of restrictions from iran and did not require any change in behavior from iran. Iran essentially increased aggression after the deal. Uranium fornt of atomic bombs and also tourism in the region. I think if a new deal is offered and thats what i said when i spoke to the u. S. Congress, the new deal would be welcome. That will only happen if iran faces strong opposition to its affordedn of the kind by you, mr. President. If you are soft on iran, you will not with iran. If you are strong on iran, i think you can move on to a better deal, a real deal. I think that something no one would be opposed to but so far not available. Pres. Trump when everybody is unified and this is all done, and it will not be a long your bang of time, iran will be will not be a long period of time, iran will be involved. They are tired of what is going on. That is great people and they want an end to it. , one ofn the election the first calls i will get is from iran, lets make a deal. One of the first calls i will get. They dont want me to win and russia doesnt want me to win. You know what is unique about those countries, they both dont want me to win and that is ok but i think we are going to win. If you look at the states and the votes coming in and the amounts of votes coming in and hitgreat red wave has not yet, it will hit in a few days, a great red wave like youve never seen before, it will be alright and a thing of beauty. Have a good time, everybody. [applause] startediday, the senate the confirmation process for judge amy coney barrett. Today, they will decide whether to approve the nomination. Democrats have been asking republicans to hold off until after the election. Vote and a monday vote have been scheduled. Follow live coverage on cspan 2. Axios hosted a forum on the election with recorded remarks bite representative karen bass and a latino vote organizer. We will also hear from former National Security adviser h. R.
