Thank you, doctor bob. Thank all of you so much. I have some prepared remarks that im going to share with you before i do i want to tell you something that happened a few hours ago. I dont know and i dont know how many of you have family chat on what that, its a great little device to keep in touch and as our family, thank god, has gotten bigger and bigger we have this family chat. With the press of time its hard for me to dig into it. So many things are on there, kids want to try to the Grocery Store and who is going to the gym and who is going to school i noticed something today from our youngest daughter, katie, was on a class trip. I clicked on it and wanted to see how she was doing on the trip. I saw something that made me stop and i almost had chills when i saw what she sent me. It was a picture of her youngest daughter, 15 yearold daughter, ralph and a flag of israel standing on the Railroad Tracks at the entrance of auschwitz. She was on a class trip with her fellow classmates through poland. I said to myself no picture, no picture better represents we are, what we are or what we are fighting for then that picture of my 15 yearold daughter with an israeli flag at the gates of auschwitz. [applause] Nothing Better signifies the perpetual battles that we have thought for generation after generation and will continue to fight forever the battles between good and evil. Rest assured, we will continue to prevail in all of those battles. [applause] there are so many people here that are worth noting and mentioning tonight that i could use up all my time just calling them all out by name. I am truly honored to be part of such an allstar lineup which includes many of israels greatest friends. I am truly honored to share this podium with all of you. I have often said that been appointed the United States ambassador to the state of israel is the greatest honor of my life. The United States, the nation of my birth, the nation of my citizenship is simply the greatest and most successful experiment of selfgovernance that the world has ever seen. [applause] for the jewish people with very rare and unfortunate exceptions the United States has offered safe haven and boundless opportunity like nowhere else in the history of the diaspora. [applause] israel is the nation of my fai faith. It is the land of the holy bible. It is very jewish history began and her jewish history continues to be made each and every day as the only democracy in americas closest allies in the middle east. [applause] no coyle american need ever apologize for loving israel and urging our government to support it. [applause] support for israel is a quintessential american value. [applause] having the mandate from the president to strengthen the relationship between israel and the United States is simply the opportunity of a lifetime and a day does not go by where i do not thank god and seek his guidance regarding this extraordinary mission. We came into office on the heels of perhaps the greatest betrayal of israel by a sitting president in American History. [applause] the failure by the United States in december of last year to veto the United NationsSecurity Council resolution 2334. Imagine a resolution stating that the western wall is illegally occupied territory and unthinkably in my lifetime and in the lifetime of my parents and those that i will dear unthinkably the United States abstained and permitted that resolution to pass. [crowd boos] a day later the secretary of state attempt to justify this outrage only compounded the problem and revealed a stunning reduction of americas most didnt middle eastern ally. I hope you agree with me. You turn the page since the dark days of last december. [cheering and applause] gone are the days when the United Nations is israel with impunity. [applause] let unesco falsely disclaim once again the 3500 your connection between the jewish people in jerusalem. This time around the result was strikingly different. The United States withdrew from unesco. [applause] and ambassador, nikki haley, there is truly. [cheering and applause] there is truly a new sheriff in town down the block and turtle bay. That is not the only start change for the better in the trump administration. In may of this past year there were 21st that you may have noticed. Earlier that month i had the privilege to be the master of ceremonies at the very first celebration at the white house hosted by Vice President mike pence. [applause] later that month and far more striking President Trump became the first sitting president in history to visit the [inaudible], the western wall. [applause] a visit that resonated throughout the middle east. I should also tell you that the day before President Trump arrived i was the first United States ambassador in American History to attend the celebration of [inaudible], the celebration of the reunification of jerusalem. [applause] i think were making progress. I think. With that progress is much more than symbolic. He asked Prime Minister benjamin on you what are the three most important foreign policies objectives of his government and what he will tell you is i iran, i iran and i run and this is not the same thing as saying location, location, location when youre talking about real estate. In a run there are three independent things to be concerned about. I run as a Nuclear Power that threatens to annihilate israel, iran as a state sponsor of terrorism and hezbollah and other proxies and iran as a regional superpower expanding through iraq, syria and yemen and filling the vacuum created by the defeat of isis. As the president confronted the decision last month of whether or not to certify that the jcpoa was in the best interest of the United States so many nations around the world came out in support of the deal, north america, south america, europe, asia, all the nations of the world came out in support of the deal with one notable exception state of israel. And with whom did the president decide on this extraordinarily important issue . The state of israel. [applause] let me be clear on this extraordinary important point. There is no daylight in the United States and israel and the critical importance of arresting the development of iran arsenal and ending its sponsorship of rogue regimes. [applause] as you know, the president is committed to seeking a peaceful resolution of the israelipalestinian conflict but never in a way that ever jeopardizes the security of the state of israel. [applause] the president recognizes the critical importance that judeo and samaria never become another failed experiment like we saw in the gaza strip. [cheering and applause] the president knows that judeo and samaria are not situated next to finland for costa rica and perhaps most importantly you will never hear the president make the case as his predecessor did that there is some symmetrical relationship between, lets say, building a house in the samarian village of [inaudible] in the brutal murder of a father, a son and a daughter in [inaudible] at a shop a table. Theres no equivalent, none whatsoever. [applause] the president has also made clear that the he intends to move the United States embassy from tel aviv to jerusalem. [cheering and applause] it is not a question of if, it is a question of when and i take the president at his word and i am personally committed to do all i can to advocate for this move. [applause] i have and a magnificent home owned in [inaudible] and you cant believe how gorgeous it is. I would give it up in a nanosecond in order to move to jerusalem. [applause] the United States government treats israel the way it deserves to be treated, as a critical and strategic ally and trusted in one of the world. As neighborhoods. To advertise this point let me provide you with a partial list of the members of the ministration that ive had the privilege to greet in israel in the six months ive been on post. President trump, secretary of state tillerson, defense secretary james mattis, treasury secretary Steven Nguyen who i had dinner with in my house two weeks ago, National Security advisor hr mcmaster, Homeland Security advisor tom, cia director mike pompeo, director of national intelligence, and as a director and ambassador to the un nikki haley, deputy National Security adviser gina powell, Senior AdvisorSteven Muller and Vice President mike pence will be welcome soon. [applause] many others have come as well and on frequent occasions i find that my colleagues Senior AdvisorJared Kushner and special envoy jason greenblatt. My friends Jared Kushner leads our negotiations as a deep commitment to the state of israel unlike any other official ever assigned to this task. He is the grandson of holocaust survivor and he does not just understand the importance of the us israel relationship but feels it soundly within his heart. [applause] you dont just have every Senior Member of the administration traveling 3000 miles to a tiny state on the other side of the world if it is not a critical ally, and of course it is. I have been committed to the safety, security and prosperity of the state of israel all of my adult life. President trump is well aware of that commitment when he formally nominated me on the day of his inauguration, the earliest possible date that it could be cemented. And he did all he could to ensure that i was the first bilateral approved by the senate and i was. The Prime Minister of israel i have turned the page on the relationship between israel and the United States. It is a change decidedly for the better. [applause] please join with me in the years to come and as we continue to strengthen and enhance the unbreakable bonds of these two great nations. Thank you so much.
