do not look safe in this environment for republicans. they at least look potentially competitive pt and so as we go on wave watch for the 2018 midterm elections, the action returns at least in part to tom foley's old district. there was a wave in '94 that took out a house speaker. is there going to be a wave in 2018 that could threaten a republican leadership member from the same district? nbc's garrett haake has been on the ground out there in eastern washington. he took the temperature. he got the lay of the land. he joins us now. what did you find? >> i found that democrats like the way this is shaping up. you brought up the history there. but here in the present they see mcmorris-rog irs as vulnerable because she is in leadership and us about of the perception that she is close to donald trump. and finally because in all of her time in congress she's never really faced a seriously competitive election. it is clear she will now. >> cathy mcmorris rogers. >> i know who you are.
