Dickson County last week entered a new phase of COVID vaccine distribution that’s accessible to more people.
But even those who don’t fall into the state-mandated 1c vaccination category requirements have another possible way to get the vaccine through the Dickson County Health Department.
People who didn’t qualify for the current vaccine phase — which is determined by the state Health Department — can wait in the afternoons at the Dickson County Fairgrounds for possible leftover vaccination doses. The county fairgrounds have been the vaccination site for the Dickson County Health Department.
Health department officials ask that people arrival about 3 p.m. Monday to Friday and usually staff can let those on the wait list know how many leftover doses remain in 30-45 minutes.
