Drier: Michigan is truly a unique state

Each winter I wonder why I’m here.
Each winter I wonder why the heck my ancestors, who came from cold countries in Europe, went to Canada. Canada is just as cold — if not colder when were they where they came from. They stayed in Canada for a while.
A few years later they left Canada to move again. This time they moved to Michigan’s Tuscola County.
I wonder why when they moved again they didn’t keep going to a warmer climate.
I can’t help but wonder what the heck they were thinking.
