The telco is aiming to build on 5G agreements in place with the UK’s four MNOs
Up to 800 new jobs are expected to be created by 2022, as Ericsson continues its 5G rollout in the UK.
The Swedish telco has agreements in place with all four major operators to deploy 5G.
The expansion will allow Ericsson to boost its local delivery capabilities, with plans to upgrade 20,000 network sites.
Of the 800 roles, 250 of these will be directly hired by Ericsson, with the remaining roles delivered through the telco’s field and resource partners.
Ericsson has invested heavily in its 5G deployment and is set to open a new 5G Centre of Excellence at its offices in Coventry by the end of the year.
