Eureka Symphony Season Premiere "Across the Centuries" Take a musical journey spanning nine centuries with the Eureka Symphony. Concerts begin with Georg Friedrich Händel’s "Water Music Suite No. 2", originally played by fifty musicians on a royal barge. That's followed by American composer Christopher Theofanidis’ "Rainbow Body". Theofanidis drew inspiration from a chant by Hildegard of Bingen, a Benedictine nun and visionary, the title referring to the Buddhist belief that when an enlightened being dies, their body is immediately absorbed back into the universe as light. The concert’s musical excursion ends with the evocative tone painting of Danish composer Neil Gade’s Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op.14.
