At 20, were on the very low side. Well be very competitive. China 15 , other countries are 18 , some are 23, 24 . The average is actually of the primary competitors is actually 23 . So well be pretty much below the average and well be able to compete. And despite all of that, and despite before we even get this massive injection, we have a stock market that has hit record highs. 81 times since our election victory. 81 times. Its at a new high right now. Unemployment is at a 17year low, very shortly at a 19year low. We think the numbers are going to continue to go down and were also getting into the pool of the 100 Million People that are not working. That pool is now coming back as you know, thats not considered in the low employment numbers, which means we have a lot of people that want to get to work and that will be working. Consumer confidence is at a 17year high. Weve created nearly 2 million jobs. Think of that. 2 million jobs since election day. Thats based on Consumer Confidence. Thats based on enthusiasm. Every enthusiasm poll especially for business enthusiasm and job enthusiasm is at an alltime high. Thats why companies are coming back into our country. Theyre opening up new plants. Most of you have written about toyota came back in, many Car Companies coming back, in going to michigan, going ohio, going to the states where they want to be. They can go anywhere they want. South carolina, north carolina, but theyre going all over our country and coming back in. We had many years where we had no new plants, no new closures, only open little. That means a lot of jobs. To get that going the way i really want where we have gdp getting up to 4, 5, and even 6 because i think thats possible. If you look back in your notes, youll notice when i said 4 , people said it would be years. Turned out im right because without the hurricanes this last quarter, we would have hit 4 . At 3. 3 which was adjusted previously. This is far beyond what anybody thought we would be at. So were at 3. 3 gdp. I see no reason why we dont go to 4, 5 and even 6 . I dont want to go far beyond that because ill be criticized if we dont hit it. Every time we go up one point, just so you understand. One point means 2. 5 trillion. Means 10 million jobs. So one point in gdp is an incredible statement. 2. 5 trillion for each point. 10 million jobs for each point, and i think were going to be going up a lot of points. So in order to really keep it going the way i want and the way we all want around this table, we have to get past our taxes. I call it the mixer. Its in conference right now. I call it the mixer. When it comes out, its going to be a beautiful mix. There are things i like better in the senate bill. Things i like better in the house bill. I think when they come out, well have new additions and well have the best of each. I think were going to have a fantastic tax bill. There are very, very few people that are embedded but there is that tiny little sliver and were going to try to take care of even that very small group of people that just through circumstances dont get the full benefit of what were doing, but the middle class gets a tremendous benefit, and business, which is jobs, gets a tremendous benefit. Well be giving the cabinet today an update on National Security and strategy. Well also receive great things on the latest developments in the tax cut negotiations, and administrator mcmahon whos done a fantastic job at Small Business administration, where is linda . Linda . Fantastic job, Small Businesses and record numbers and they needed help really because of the hurricanes. The hurricanes were devastating. As i said, gdp, if we didnt have the hurricanes, we would have hit just about four this last, but we had, as you probably know and probably everybody remembers, we had five really bad ones, and we have a lot of businesses that have been severely hurt and Linda Mcmahon has done an incredible job for the Small Business. Thank you very much, linda. So were in a great period in this country because jobs are coming back, unemployment is low, business has never been stronger, but we have a military that we have to build. I want to thank general mattis for doing such a great job with respect to isis. Hes knocked the hell out of them. Of course, ive made it possible with what ive let you do, i think. Yes, sir, absolutely. He has done a fantastic job. He and the military have done a fantastic job with isis. Theyre essentially knocked out of syria, knocked out of iraq, thats the good news. The bad news is they go all over the place. And ill tell you where we dont want them. We dont want them here. We dont want them in our country. Tell them to stay wherever the hell they are. We dont want them in our country. They do go back into some countries. We dont them into our country. Were watching that closely. Id like to wish everyone a great season, a merry christmas, happy new year, and i will tell you that we have a big announcement coming up at 1 00, perhaps a couple of you will be there, maybe not. But its a big announcement. Announcement concerning israel and the palestinians in the middle east, and i think its long overdue. Many president s said they want to do something and didnt do it, whether its through courage or changed their mind, they didnt do it. A lot of people said we have to do something and didnt do it. Well be talking about that something at 1 00 and look forward to seeing you then. Thank you all very much. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Reporter [inaudible] Peace Process. Well talk about it in a little while. Reporter [ inaudible ] thank you very much. It could happen, the democrats are really looking at something that is very dangerous for our country. They are looking at shutting down. They want to have Illegal Immigrants in many cases, people that we dont want in our country. They want to have Illegal Immigrants pouring into our country, bringing crime, tremendous amounts of crime. We dont want to have that. We want to have a great, beautiful, crimefree country. And we want people coming into our country, but we want them to come on our basis, and thats why were being so careful with our process and our screening, and as you know, we had a tremendous victory the other day with the supreme court. Got quite a bit of attention, probably not as much of attention as it deserved. That was a tremendous victory are in country. Not a victory for me, it was a victory for our country. So the democrats maybe want to shut down the country because they want people flowing into our country, and i want people coming into our country, but i want to vet those people, and i want to vet them very carefully, because we dont want to have radical islamic terrorism in this country, and we dont want to have crime in this country. You look at what just happened in san francisco, that was a disgrace, and as you know, the federal government just got involved and did a great thing because theyre going to take that at least to the next step. They did a great thing by getting involved. So thank you very much, ill see you all at 1 00. Thank you. Neil all right, youve been listening to the president of the United States, who said a few moments ago in the cabinet room outlining a big announcement later on today when he will recognize jerusalem as israels capital. That is at noon. We generally stood by. That but that we want to move our embassy there. Its causing hackels among turkey, france and germany saying were going too fire and maybe igniting a powder keg. The pope spoke out against this. Predecessors have been urging. That for the time being focusing on continuing progress on the tax cut front, that he wants to clean up a lot of the details that are hitting a slither of the population that might not be benefitting. Im paraphrasing, there but congress itself separately were hearing may wrap up tax negotiations before december 22nd. To send that ultimate bill, assuming its approved and iron out differences to the president of the United States. All right, to blake burman with the latest on all the fast moving developments at the white house. Blake . Reporter ill start with the Government Spending bill. I was speaking with a senior white house official earlier today, and the feeling is that the expectations they really dont want to set expectations on. This you heard the president mention there that democrats could shut it down, the senior white house official who is immersed in all of this said to me at this point they do not feel it is going to get to a shutdown. Keep in mind, theyve got at least come up with some sort of agreement on friday. I was also told the basic topline funding numbers havent been agreed upon. That is the first thing they have do before they move forward with any of the other items like you heard the president mention, allude to, democrats who want the daca fix, Chuck Schumer and nancy pelosi will be at the white house tomorrow. The sense is they will get this done and fund the government at least for the next two weeks. As for what were expecting over the course of the next 50 minutes or so, of course, it is the big news from the president that he will change u. S. Policy, recognize jerusalem as the capital of israel. Move the embassy there. Though, we are expected to hear from the president. Have him say that this will not happen overnight. Senior white house official, Senior AdministrationOfficials Say this is a process that will take place over the next three or four years. Though, they are hailing this as a Campaign Promise kept by the president. The outrage, though, continues across the middle east, including some of the u. S. most closest allies who do not want to see this happen, who have urged the president for this to not happen. Weve already seen protests in bethlehem there. Protesters lighting pictures of President Trump on fire. But for every indication from what weve heard from the president , expect him to announce this shift in policy as he said, his predecessors before him. Some of them did not have the courage as he put it to do so. Neil . Neil all right, thank you very much. My friend. To the former mayor of israel, david rubin on how this all factors out, particularly as we move our embassy to jerusalem from tel aviv. This was years in the making but the die would be cast. Mayor, what do you think of all of this . Well, first of all, let me say its a bold move by the president. Long overdue. Many president s have spoken about it and finally President Trump had the courage to do it, and im pleased to hear. Neil all right, well, as you know, somewhere not so pleased to hear it, sir, those in egypt and germany and france, i could go on about turkey, now its reassessing relations with israel as we speak because of this. What do you think . Well, i think actually quite absurd. Turkey hasnt been a friend of israel for many years, erdogan, who is the president of turkey, is an islamic radical, and has not been a friend of israels for a long time. I wouldnt lose sleep over that one. Neil what would change, mayor . What do you think changes now in terms of your countrys relationship with much of the arab world, particularly countries that have tighter relations with you, including egypt, including jordan. What do you think . I dont think anything is going to change, really. There will be a bit of commotion, a few days of rage. Rioting. Theyll be throwing rocks at our cars and shootings on the road, but the bottom line is that its in the arab worlds interest to have good covert relations with israel. Saudi arabia, some of the persian gulf countries. Egypt certainly will continue cooperation on combating terrorism. That theyre also concerned about, and i believe that saudi arabia will continue its cooperation with israel on the iran issue. Theyre more afraid of iran than we are. Neil mayor, thank you very much for taking the time. We appreciate it. While the mayor is speaking, noticeable impact by defense stocks. Thats what some of the countries including turkey are talking about. Defense stocks start racing forward. Very little changes one way or the other, and that would be pretty much indicative of all the markets. More political news to tell you about that is a far bigger issue for the time being. Seven Democratic Senators calling on al franken to resign. Kristen gillen brand, patty murray washington, Kamala Harris of california, all democrats, to the daily mail. Com White House Correspondent francesca chambers on the fast moving development. This comes on the heels of additional woman who stepped forward to say al franken had abused her. Now did the feeling seem to be he has become more controversy than hes worth, right . Has he hit the conyers wall yet . John conyers in the house, they forced the issue and tried to force him out. Right, and you saw that the people who are saying that, no surprise that theyre all women. So what i think were waiting to hear now is from the Democratic Leadership, and murray is the Democratic Leadership, but the whole Democratic Leadership, what we saw change in the conyers situation is nancy pelosi come out saying after he was an icon, saying he needs to step down. What will really force this issue, i think, is if you have from a topdown structure, Democratic Leaders saying, okay, its time to go. I wonder whether the pressure they put on john conyers to go may be justified in the eyes of the beholder, maybe not, that they didnt want to look like they were treating a white democrat differently and that played into this and there has to be a sense of consistency. Though some of the examples of argument could be in all case. What do you make of that . Democrats are also realizing if theyre going to make certain charges against the president , based on the accusations that women have made against him that they have to look in their own caucus first, and they have to serious leconsider the charges made against democratic members of congress, and have you someone like Kirsten Gillibrand who has been a champion on this issue, and we saw her come out against bill clinton which is shocking at the time, and so, again, realizing that in order to be a champion on this issue, as a party and as a member of congress, that you really have to look again within your own caucus and hold them to the same accountability that you are trying to hold republicans. Neil interesting argument, i dont doubt it for a second. You could say you as a party of the democrats say we cleared the decks and show how tough we are in this sort of stuff. Republicans, were putting the pressure on you, should roy moore win in the alabama contest, kick him out as soon as he does. Thats exactly right, neil. How can you put the pressure on someone like roy moore is another example, if he is elected when, again, you have whats going on with conyers, the allegations against franken within your own caucus. Neil do you think, francesca, al franken is out of there. Now with 7 prominent Democratic Senators, im sure there will be more by the time the day ends. That he is out . He survived it before now, the accusations were before now. This Tipping Point particularly in light of everything going on with the moore race versus doug jones, thats on december 12, and thats a huge race. We have a situation where democrats, you know, a lot closer to controlling the senate next year, republicans would only have 51 seats if they can pick up the seat in alabama. Certainly, as they head into the race, hold party accountable. Neil hold your nose option, keeping that seat republican but taking the baggage that comes with that in the case of a moore, fairly or not is deemed inappropriate in the eyes of the establishment. Mitt romney, for example, and shouldnt be being with. It is a mess. Francesca, thank you very much. All right, in the meantime, a shutdown spending fight and it is on. The president , you might have seen in the white house, clearly saying if it were to happen, the democrats would do it. The democrats push us to the brink, not republicans. Shutdown is in the eyes of the beholder. A lot of times its republicans because they insist on keeping a lid on spending and look like theyre being too argumentative. Never democrats because they dont insist on such limitations. Rolls are reversed right now and sounding like everything is upside down. Why is that . I used to have more hair. I used to have more color. And. I used to have cancer. I beat it. I did. Not alone. I used to have no idea what the American Cancer Society did. Research . Yeah. But also free rides to chemo and free lodging near hospitals. I used to maybe give a little. Then i got so much back. I used to have cancer. Please give at cancer. Org. Neil all right, were getting word right now and, of course, this falls on the heels of the president indicating in the spray you saw from the white house that a shutdown could happen, hed like to avoid it, but could happen, now hearing from adam shapiro, a source close to the Republican Leadership is saying the house will vote thursday on a resolution whose actual timing is yet to be determined. Trying to make sure this gets done sooner rather than later, spending measure to keep the lights on another couple of weeks. Thats all theyre talking about and handling it a little at a time. Can you imagine if we did bills that way, robbing peter to pay paul. A weekend at a time. Both parties discussing this. Brian, what do you make of this, trying to avoid a shutdown which is always a good goal, but the way they do it doesnt exactly inspire confidence. What do you think . Is it a good goal . You think about the shutdown and everyone so concerned about it happening. Whats the realistic alternative . When we dont get a shutdown fight, we get automatic, autopilot spending increases. I look at it, lets have the conversation, have the fight, lets hope this gets us to the point where we stop increasing debt and stop increasing spending. Obviously the reason they dont want to have it now is get the tax bill through. I get that. This ends up in the same spot year after year, taxpayers paying more money, debt going up. Lets have the conversation, have the fight. Neil daniel, we know that theyre going to obviously do something to keep the lights on. He doesnt like a lot of people saying this is the same charade we play, just get through the latest hump, and the world looks at that and doesnt feel good about it, right . I mean, we were sort of like a laughingstock when it comes to the matters, yet we point the fingers at greece or italy to say they got to get their act together. What do you think . Totally agree, were about to do a very large progrowth tax cut and the benefits may get inhibited by what youre talking about, constant brinksmanship of the budget. Going into several clips. I would caution you, this is just to get through this year, get the Defense Budget higher. Theyre seriously talking about entitlement reform for 2018. So as the tax bill clears. Neil i hope it happens, i know what theyre saying, republicans talking up welfare reform, maybe a welfare to work thing that bill clinton and Newt Gingrich were able to cobble together. How realistic do you think that is . I dont think its realistic at all. Theyre talking about wanting to do this in 2018. It wasnt a priority on the campaign trail. I dont know how motivated the president is to do that. I would love for them to get it done, but this is not a congress that has shown really any significant ability to cut spending, and youre seeing it right now with this government shutdown, its going to get through and going to increase spending. Im not optimistic about it. We need to be, need to be getting there, need to be free forming entitlement spending. I dont see the congress having the guts to do it. They want to get tax reform done and wash their hands. Neil i apologize for all the breaking news, speaking of, which Democratic NationalCommittee Chair tom perez is adding his name to the seven Democratic Senators who told al franken you should leave, you should step down. Well have more after this. Building a website in under an hour is easy with gocentral. From godaddy in fact, 68 of people who have built their. Neil all right, we are just getting word as the democrats pile on als franken to step down the 11 Democratic Senators at a discount in the Democratic NationalCommittee Chair, all saying that he should leave and tomorrow hes going to make an announcement, whether that would be to do just that. Charlie gasparino is here. It just adds to the volatility mix. Charlie i wonder if this is a seat the republicans can play. Neil no. The governor would be naming their spirit charlie for how long. Trade do i dont know. I asked the questions. Draper at some point minnesota almost voted for trump. Neil right now, is it your sense that i think it was the pressures of republican regarding more. Even now ahead of the election to say we are dealing with these issues, you are not republicans. I dont think thats quite sexist and warfare because everything is apples and oranges. Charlie i think more is sorted out their purity is so much worse than al franken if you sort of looked at not that witty as did his goodbye any stretch of the imagination. He is dating young women, teenagers takes this to another level. I think maybe that is the calculus of democrats right now, which showed them that lets turn up the heat on this big race for republicans. And they are putting in office a guide to some people believe is a sexual predator. We are getting rid of some guy, do you want to side with the Republican Party who will embrace a sexual predator while we get rid of someone who is a . It is kind of interesting whether that works or not i dont know, be you can see them politically trying to make that case. Neil for both parties, and we heard about the payments to victims and everyone played and about it with no idea what was going on. On the senate side and republican side in john conyers and hes got a go and all that stuff. Charlie i will say this. Wall street is a bastion of stability towards winning. Wall street in many ways have covered wall street for many years has dealt with this problem earlier that hollywood, media, entertainment raked wall street over the coals for the culture that existed for many years. The same people now are the ones charlie think about where this is going. Where are the Sexual Harassment scandals . Where is it not just harassment and behavior, outright physical abuse. It occurs in the media industry. It is occurring in congress and it is occurring in entertainment. All the places that win after wall street for so many years. Corporate america in many years to dealt with this. We are going to get letters and emails send tweets, it is horrible. Yes, but institutionally, wall street dealt with it i believe. It is not an institutionalized. Train to the vatican today. Nothing is ever the vatican. But the entertainment industry, congress and media, what would you call that . That is like the playboy mansion. Neil to confirm what i said, minnesota governor democrat would have the power to replace al franken. We dont know that would be up to the governor. Charlie how many years are left in the term . I think four years. The thing about roy moore, he gets in there, would have six years. You will have four more years come as you can theoretically blow about it for years. Trade to the next time you come why dont you look into this . Charlie i got on the site and you told me lets talk about all franken. Stuart smalley. When a just ask me about rolling thunder. Neil weve got the dow down to 15. The defense does not seem to be popping the day. Is it on this new capital for israel in jerusalem . I would think so because you think about it, listen, like i said Stock Traders are insane. A tradeoff in they trade often headlines a month and algorithm headline. Something that might pop an algorithm for defense stock. Neil even though others have argued this in the past. Charlie just dont caught up in this. Be a longterm investor. Its like gun sales. Gun stocks go up. Neil thank you very much. Really great job on this issue. By the way, we dont obsess because we tried to avoid that. Right now we are down 18 points. More after this. What if we could keep more amof what we earn . D. Trillions of dollars going back to taxpayers. Who could possibly be against that . Well, the National Debt is 20 trillion. As we keep adding to it, guess who pays the bill . Him. And her. And her. Congress, we should grow the economy. Not the debt. For every hour that youre idling in your car, youre sending about half a gallon of gasoline up in the air. That amounts, over the course of the week, to about 10 pounds of carbon dioxide. Growth is good, but when it starts impacting our quality of air and quality of life, thats a problem. So forwardthinking cities like sacramento are investing in streets that are smarter and greener. The solution was right under our feet. Asphalt. Or to be more precise, intelligent asphalt. By embedding sensors into the pavement, as well as installing cameras on traffic lights, we will be able to analyze the flow of traffic. That data runs across our network and we use it to optimize the timing of lights, so that traffic flows easier and travel times are shorter. Who knew asphalt could help save the environment . Democratic colleagues right now about a dozen of them including head of the Democratic NationalCommittee Says now it is time for you to go. No indications that that will mean for him, but obviously some are reading in todays clearing the next ahead of roy moore appeared here is how we handle our problems republicans. How about you . What do you think of all of this . You know what, this has become such a problem. Its a problem from the gop looks like a problem for democrats from the democrats are being active in getting guys gone. Its horrible that will affect gop branding and the gop brand is the republican platform being overshadowed by all this mess. We wouldnt be here in the first place when i have respect for the things bannon has done. We wouldnt be in this mess again with there strange. We wouldnt be sitting here talking about this mess. Hes going to be, roy moore is going to be entering in this administration with people that may not want to work with him. The reason the senators on the democratic side are coming forward and one in al franken to resign is because they dont want to work with them. What is this going to look like a favor republican senator nominate the people dont want to work with. I dont remember the polls, what i vaguely remember is that women have a very, very different view of this thing. When it comes to the roi of more controversy, they by and large agree with the president. The alternative to a republican is a democrat. A friend to pelosi and Chuck Schumer. Women not so much. So that is the argument. I know that romney and others have been arguing to be careful saying respect the will of the alabama voters, not the longerterm issues to address here. What do you think . There are going to be longerterm issues. The gop had trouble with attracting women and minorities. What is fueling the fire, youve got time making a person of the year to me to movement. Hes got a lot of issues going on. This is bat him a lot of friends. Number one, why did trump even enter into this . He had some problems of islam and what he said originally, which i will leave it up to the voters of alabama, leavitt hair. And now the rnc is doubling down and they are going right behind it and they seize the funding race and the full throttle funding race. This is sending a mixed message. Somebody like me im in the industry. Actively work on races. What am i supposed to do . Who do i defend . I say these victims you have to listen to last. Go get steve bannon, the rnc, ron daniels, puts everybody in a cluster situation. The funding i dont think will affect fundraising because everybody agrees thats Republican Committee agree with the gop, republican platform still makes sense. Weve got roy moore representing the platform and we dont agree with what he stands for now. Neil you were closer to this than ill ever be, but i do feel that every time republicans seem to be making end runs, what do you like or dont like the tax cuts, it is a big accomplishment that they can pull it off and settle these differences, which i suspect they can and will end yet its lost in a sauce about harassment issues and senators tuesday ergo and other issues concerning jerusalem and whether that should be where we built our embassy. It just seems like this is time for burying the good news for republicans, right . You know, what are we doing coming out . Weve got the ball. We have the data. The house, senate, presidency and is being overshadowed by kooky tweets, which the president , look at the economy. Look at the market. The markets are rallying. They love it. Look at what is happening. We are talking about this and we are also talking about crazy treats. The president won. He did it. Hes at the finish line. Time to let it go. Neil sad. Thank you very, very much. It is amazing. No well, the bottom line as she said, the more this keeps up, the more it keeps up, the less we talk about the active taxes going down. That is not a position republicans want to be in, but that is exactly the position they are in and they are not happy. Right now so far neither are the markets. More after this. Neil these wildfires are now out of control, burning 50,000 acres in southern california. Massive plumes of smoke getting wider, not smaller. Well keep you on top of that in the next hour as well. Meanwhile, the white house looking to reform welfare after voting on taxes. Tax cuts are rapidly speeding along the with the spending measure that could be voted on to sort of expedite. Com and in the next hour as well. First come in gerri willis on details about what weve learned on welfare and maybe what is going on in wisconsin that could be a sort of a federal government incubator. Whats going on here . At that italian meal, and this thing is getting a lot of traction as trump is laying the ground for welfare with scott walker moving forward with a plan to drug tests on food stamp recipients. Now under his plan, ablebodied adults seeking public renovates like health care, jobless benefits, welfare would be drug tested. Those who feel the need to comply with treatment requirements or face losing benefits, including written by the Walker Administration that it would end up screaming 67,400 applicants a year and required 3 or 2100 to actually be tested. Cost of the programs for wisconsin are expected to be 867,000 in an annual basis as you can see here with 224 folks expect it to test positive. Walker says the program would help addicts get treatment and help employers in finding skilled workers with a drug test. In the meantime, trump has a draft executive order on welfare ready to go, prepared. Citing Administration Sources commend the order would address the dozens of federal programs that provide income people and include instructions for federal agencies to propose changes. Neil, back to you. Neil thank you very much. In the meantime, ups delivery delays due to a surge in online orders that this has a lot of folks wondering whether they will get there just in time. Deirdre bolton outside the ups store with more. I certainly am here on fifth avenue as you said this ups store right behind me here. You saturday. Ups didnt seem ready for all of our collective change in the way that we shot. As you look at cybermonday alone, 17 higher to record spend this year. 616 billion if you compare to cybermonday last year. Ups they would have some glitches. Not all packages may make it in time under peoples christmas trees. They are doing a lot to fix the problem, but in the meantime not everyone is too worried. Heres somebody we caught up with earlier. I just received about all packages from ups. They are coming. Dont worry. Youll get your packages. So there you go. An unflappable new yorkers and dont worry about it. The statistics as of this moment are telling a different story. If you look at ship matrix, basically a Software Company that analyzes shipping data. They are saying that ups success rate in delivering packages for when it supposed to come a 89. 2 . Competitor fedex doing much better. 99. 4 . Also worth noting ups has a higher level of difficulty if we want to be generous on that point agile to deliver 750 million packages between thanksgiving and christmas. Fedex has a smaller load about 400 million packages to deliver in the same timeframe. Ups management saying we are fixing the problem, doing everything we can. It should be resolved midweek essentially today. Here are some things 95,000 extra seasonal workers. Some of those are drivers in letting them use their own cars to make a package delivery. Another thing they are using three boeing 747 jet, which is the largest commercially three and they are even increasing hours for the drivers. That is not going down too well. To give you an idea of their schedule, some of the workers, drivers have to work 70 hours over eight days and that is clearly up from 60 hours over seven days. However, ups says listen, we are doing everything we can within federal guidelines. All of the drivers will be paid time and a half or if you want to be sentimental, looks like reindeer so the best bet for getting your packages under the tree on time. Back to you. Neil thank you are a much. You could look at the flip side on this. The glass halffull side is her having a robust Holiday Shipping season and the economy is off to the races. Or you could just say my packages going to be late. We are also watching the dow right now. Not a whole lot of that committee. The only group percolating ahead of the big announcement later on a few minutes away in what he wants to do a better u. S. Embassy. Its a lot easier said than done, but its going to put that to paper and try to get the ball rolling. Defenserelated stocks are percolating as a result here on the feeling that this is going to ignite tension in the middle east. So the turks and egyptians, like germany and france come and france, saying this is not the time to be doing that. Every u. S. President dating back i believe to gerald ford have proposed to varying degrees the role that jerusalem should play thatll make the center for activity in if not its capital, but a place that we should be operating from us our embassy. This president has had the same on the campaign is saying im going to make it happen. Again, in the details after this. Neil moments away from President Trump declaring jerusalem not only the capital of israel but wants to move our embassy there. Were in tel aviv right now. The israelis are welcoming this. Pretty much anyone else in the middle east not so much the pope weighed in said this is a bad move. We have history of some president s over the years talking about doing just this sort of thing. This president acting on it. I want to get real skinny on things. Who knows history better than guy literally wrote books on it, former bush 43 deputy chief of staff, bustler of books, karl rove. All these president s, former president s talking about this, is that this novel or new, what do you think . They talked about it, but donald trump is doing it. Every previous president in their campaign talked about making this move or moving the embassy moving to jerusalem. Once they got into office felt pressure from allies in the region and from International Community to cause them to wonder if it was going to mess up more things than it being clear about this so, this is going neil karl, sorry to interrupt you if you can hear me, were having some problems with your audio. I apologize for that. We hope to fix. Doug heiken, new york state assembly, democrat, he obviously has different kind of view, but your view is essentially what this president is doing despite you being delicate is the right thing to do, right . No it is the right thing to do. It shows courage. It shows leadership. Long overdue. You know it is one thing to talk about doing it as president s both republicans, democrats have talked about for decades, and have done absolutely nothing. Neil what difference would it make to you, to see this done like now . It is just the right thing. I just got back from jerusalem. The knesset, israeli parliament, Prime Ministers office, the government is in jerusalem, the capital of the state of israel. This is reality check. It is the right thing to do. So neil when you hear outcry from hamas and obviously other palestinian groups and turkey concerned and rethinking its relationship with israel, are they overreacting or is this just adding salt to their wound . Neil, it is to be expected. Erdogan from turkey, what do you expect . Most of the middle east, the people of israel want peace. It is not jerusalem thats the problem. Its having a partner to talk to and deal with. Unfortunately there is no partner. You know, im proud to be an american today because the president of the United States made a commitment and he is not doing what other president s have done before, republicans and democrats. He is doing the right thing. You know, neil, the United Nations just short while ago overwhelmingly voted, actually voted to say that the jewish people have no connection to jerusalem. That is just happened a while ago. It is regular thing at the United Nations. The jewish people, dov, i have no connection to jerusalem. You know what . The president of the United States is sending a very clear message to the entire world. The jewish people have a connection to jerusalem, not just from the past 70 years of the state of israel, but for thousands of years. And this does not have to take away from a Peace Process. Whenever that gets underway. Look you had president obama, who bent over backward for the palestinians for eight years. A lot of the people who were complaining about trump right now, they were not complaining about president obama, the resolution at the United Nations in december of 2016, that undermined israel. I didnt hear a lot of yelling on the part of a lot of people when president obama literally stabbed israel in the back at that particular point. Neil to that point, i think my friend karl rove is back again. Karl, i apologize for audio problems we had as we wait to hear from the president. Obviously those countries now including the pope weighing in on this i think what theyre saying now is not the time for this but what do you make of that argument . That with Everything Else going on this is not a front burner type issue that need be risked now. You say . Well, look, first of all the assemblyman made a passionate case why this ought to be done. Remember, this is deeplyfelt sentiment in our country not only in the Jewish Community but evangelical community which feel aspects kinship with israel. A lot of people in america support this. And youre right, there is going to be people always saying it is the wrong time. Im not worried about hamas and hezbollah, saying it is the wrong time. Theyre our adversaries, not our allies but what caused previous president s to restrain themselves on this issue the input of the jordanians and saudis and other allies in the region and israels attitude, theyre playing the long game. Consolidate the sense jerusalem is the true capital of israel backed by the United States in this intimmation and move on. And whether or not it has impact on the Peace Process, probably does in the short run. Whether it does not medium term, long term, depends on how adroit the administration is in moving forward on those other issues. This is exactly what each president has heard. Each president has heard whether from allies in london or allies in riyadh or allies in our allies in istanbul or ink ankar, that it complicates Peace Process. The assemblyman made a strong case why this president is different. Well see how it plays out. In the short run, there will be problems no ifs, ands or buts about it. Neil do v. Neal, some other networks made a point there is no other country that has its embassy in jerusalem. Well, as we are speaking right now, a number of country, including the philippines and others in Eastern Europe are reaching out to israel saying we would like to move our embassy to jerusalem. So thats why im saying the president of the United States is showing leadership to the rest of the world. And im very, very proud today. Neil karl, i look at market, a snap read on things, defense stocks are moving up. I dont find it just coincidental they maybe fear or reflection of heightened anxiety there could be more trouble in the middle east as a result of this. What do you think . I, i would be a little bit reluctant to do that. I think there is overall security posture, security facing the United States, whether it is north korea or whether its this, or instability in the middle east or more importantly i think is, growing recognition congress will increase the Defense Budget. Were entering a period of negotiations over the continuing resolution and one of the big points that the republicans are making is, were absolutely committed to increasing the Defense Budget, particularly given threats we face around the world. Neil assemblyman, your thoughts on that . Runup in the stocks are pronounced today. Karl is right, there are certainly other pressure points, north korea not the least of them, do you think this could lead to problems, real kick . There could be difficulties. There is always difficulties in the middle east. That is nothing new. Neil thank you very much. The president of the United States. When i came into office i promised to look at the worlds challenges with open eyes and very fresh thinking. We can not solve our problems by making the same failed assumptions and repeating the same failed strategies of the past. Old challenges demand new approaches. My announcement today marks the beginning of a new approach to conflict between israel and the palestinians. In 1995 congress adopted the Jerusalem Embassy act, urging the federal government to relocate the american empa embassy to jerusalem and to recognize that city, and so importantly, is israels capital. This act passed congress by an overwhelmingly bipartisan majority and was reaffirmed by unanimous vote of the senate only six months ago. Yet for over 20 years every previous american president has exercised the laws waiver, refusing to move the u. S. Embassy to jerusalem, or to recognize jerusalem as israels capital city. President s issued these waivers under the belief that the delaying recognition of jerusalem would advance the cause of peace. Some say they lacked courage but they made their best judgment, based on facts as they understood them at the time. Nevertheless the record is in. After more than two decades of waivers, we are no closer to a lasting Peace Agreement between israel and the palestinians. It would be folly to assume that repeating the exact same formula would now produce a different or better result. Therefore i have determined that it is time to officially recognize jerusalem as the capital of israel. While previous president s have made this a major Campaign Promise, they failed to deliver. Today i am delivering. I have judged this course of action to be in the best interests of the United States of america and the pursuit of peace between israel and the palestinians. This is a long overdue step to advance the Peace Process and to work towards a lasting agreement. Israel is a sovereign nation with the right like every other sovereign nation to determine its own capital, acknowledging this is a fact is a necessary condition for achieving peace. It was 70 years ago that the United States under president truman recognized the state of israel. Ever since then israel made its capital in the city of jerusalem, the capital the jewish people established in ancient times. Today jerusalem is the seat of the modern israeli government. It is the home of the israeli parliament, the knesset, as well as the israeli supreme court. It is the location of the official residence of the Prime Minister and the president. It is the headquarters of many government ministries. For decades visiting american president s, secretaries of state, and military leaders have met their israeli counterparts in jerusalem. As i did on my trip to israel earlier this year. Jerusalem is not just the heart of three great religions but it is now also the heart of one of the most successful democracies in the world. Over the past seven decades the israeli people have built a country where jews, muslims and christians and people of all faiths are free to live and worship according to their conscience and according to their beliefs. Jerusalem is today and must remain a place where jews pray at the western wall, where christians walk the stations of the cross, and where muslims worship at the mosque. However, through all of these years president s representing the United States have declined to officially recognize jerusalem as israels capital. In fact we have declined to acknowledge any israeli capital at all but today we finally acknowledge the obvious, that jerusalem is israels capital. This is nothing more or less than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do. It is something that has to be done. That is why consistent with the Jerusalem Embassy act, i am also directing the state department to begin preparation to move the American Embassy from tel aviv to jerusalem. This will immediately begin the process of hiring architects, engineers and planners so that a new embassy, when completed, will be a magnificent tribute to peace. In making these announcements i also want to make one point very clear. This decision is not intended in any way to reflect a departure from our strong commitment to facilitate a lasting Peace Agreement. We want an agreement that is a great deal for the israelis, and a great deal for the palestinians. We are not taking a position of any final status issues, including the specific boundaries of the israeli sovereignty in jerusalem or the resolution of contested borders. Those questions are up to the parties involved. The United States remains deeply committed to helping facilitate a Peace Agreement that is acceptable to both sides. I intend to do everything in my power to help forge such an agreement. Without question jerusalem is one of the most sensitive issues in those talks. The United States would support a twostate solution if agreed to by both sides. In the meantime i call on all parties to maintain the status quo at jerusalem holy sites including the temple mount, also known as haram el sharif. Above all our greatest hope is for peace, the universal yearning in every human soul. With todays action i reaffirm my administrations longstanding commitment to a future of peace and security for the region. There will of course be disagreement and dissent regarding this announcement. But we are confident that ultimately, as we work through these disagreements, we will arrive at a peace and a place far greater in understanding and cooperation. This sacred city should call forth the best in humanity. Lifting our sights what is possible, not pulling us back and down to the old fights that have become so totally predict able. Peace is never beyond the grasp of those willing to reach it. Today we call for calm, for moderation and for the voices of tolerance to prevail over their purveyors of hate. Our children should inherit our love, not our conflicts. I repeat, the message i delivered, at the historic and extraordinary summit in saudi arabia earlier this year. The middle east is a region rich with culture, spirit and history. Its people are brilliant, proud and diverse, vibrant and strong. But the incredible future awaiting this region is held at bay by bloodshed, ignorance and terror. Vice president pence will travel to the region in the coming days to reaffirm our commitment to work with partners throughout the middle east to defeat radicalism that threatens the hopes and dreams of future generations it is time for the many who desire peace to expel the extremists from their midst. It is time for all civilized nations and people to respond to disagreement with reasoned debate, not violence. It is time for young and moderate voices all across the middle east to claim for themselves a bright and beautiful future. So today lets rededicate ourselves to a path of mutual senating and respect. Let us rethink old assumptions and open our hearts and minds to possible and possibilities, and finally i asked the leaders of the region, political and religious, israeli and palestinian, jewish and christian and muslim, to join us in the noble quest for lasting peace. Thank you, god bless you, god bless israel. God bless the palestinians, and god bless the United States. Thank you very much. Thank you. Neil all right. The president as expected declaring that the United States should move i swiftly or as swiftly can be done in that region to go ahead and move your embassy from tel aviv to jerusalem. It is realistically the capital of israel. That point fallen on deaf ears with the Arab Community and beyond. Turkey hates the idea. Even emannuel macron of france is saying that now is not the time. This could complicate middle east peace efforts. Others said much the same in germany. The status quo, the pope says, is probably what is called for now. You can address this sort of thing later. The president opting not to do so. Not taking any questions. Assigning this initiative to do just that, but it will take a number of years. Some say at least four to five years. So something that could potentially eclipse this presidency. Democratic new york state assemble dovhikin. He seemed to prepare people not everyone will be prepared for this. I wish i could hug the president. I was impressed with what the president said, the points that he made, recognizing israel is not like other countries in the middle east. Israel is a true democracy. Not a perfect one. No democracy is perfect but he recognized that israel is special. I just got to tell you, if the leaders, all over the world were listening carefully, then hopefully there will not be bloodshed. I think most of the world, particularly in the middle east, i mean terrorist organizations there, it doesnt matter what the president says. Every opportunity they have, look, they are for, theyre for the destruction of the state of israel. Theyre not for any part of israel but the president , i want to hug him. He was amazing. The it was an amazing speech and really, very moderate. He really spoke to everyone. I just hope that everyone was listening carefully. He spoke about a new approach. How right he is. Weve been talking about peace forever. There have been some peace plans on the table and nothing has come of it. Were nowhere, were further away from peace than ever before. We need a new approach, whatever that is going to be coming out of the white house. I look forward to it, but today, is a great day for me as an american. For me as a jew. Im very, very proud of our president. Neil you know, maybe you know a little bit more, im sure you do about the history of this, we as a country have looked at doing this, but it is invariably been waved for National Security reasons for the past 22 years. President s going back at least that far advocated something similar to what the president initiated today have failed. Now the indication weve gotten before, and i, in the case of president bush, the last president bush, the saudis said not a good idea, now is not the time. With president obama, im told it was combination of the saudis and the egyptians, not a good time. Hold back on this type of talk. What, what is their biggest concern . Obviously they want dibs on that, i think i can cynically read into that. Is there something more here . What am i missing . First of all, countries like saudi arabia and other countries in the middle east have relationships with israel. Neil right. Theyre not public but they do. I want to point out, neil, in 1948, this is part of our history of the United States, dennis ross spoke about it in the book he did a couple years ago, in 1948 the state department advised president truman not to recognize the state of israel. About 600,000 jews and tens of millions of arabs were more important, the air rashes were more important. We cant antagonize them. It was truman on his own who did what he thought was right and recognized the state of israel. And today the president of the United States making, you know, he made a commitment. You know, people talk about this, well, everybody made commitments. They didnt really mean it. Really . Is that what our politicians are all about . We promise things knowing full well that were not going to fulfill those promises, whether it was clinton, whether it was bush, whether it was obama . I mean the president of the United States, let us give him credit today, democrats, republicans, he is doing the right thing. He is following the law and we should not be intimidated by our enemies and by those who say, you know, three days of rage. By the way, neil, not three days of demonstrations. Not three days of, getting your point of view. Rage, you know what rage means in the middle east . It means murdering innocent people. That is what it is all about. So you know, the president could not have present the his case in more moderate way dealing with everyones concerns. Again, im in new york. If i was in washington at the speech i would have gotten up and walked over and put my arms around the president. Neil other politicians, Chuck Schumer among them said this is the right thing to do. The israeli Prime Minister, to your point, assemblyman, found this to be a very positive development and looks forward to its fruition. Well keep an eye on it. Others in the muslim community, throughout the middle east not so keen on this the back and forth will continue. Back to domestic policy matters including that spending measure. Were told the house will focus on spending bill tomorrow, whether that sets the stage for senate doing the same, wrapping up some sort of a twoweek extension, as i often say keep government lights on a little bit, until they cobble together another extension that will carry them presumably into the new year. No way to run a house old or budget or business, but it is the way they run things in washington. Both democrats and republicans have been doing it for years. Theyre doing it again. Well have more after this. D business has been great. Theyre affordable and fast. Maybe too affordable and fast. What if. People arent buying these books online, hi bill. If that is your real name. Its william actually. Hmph affordable, fast fedex ground. I mwell, what are youe to take care odoing tomorrow 10am . Staff meeting. Noon . Eating. 3 45 . Uh, compliance training. 6 30 . Sams baseball practice. 8 30 . Tai chi. Yeah, so sounds relaxing. Alright, 9 53 . I usually make their lunches then, and i have a little vegan so wow, you are busy. Wouldnt it be great if you had investments that worked as hard as you do . Yeah. Introducing essential portfolios. The automated investing solution that lets you focus on your life. Neil all right, they are trying to move fast in washington right now. Some say its too fast, but the criticism before was that they werent moving at all. They cant win anyway. A source close to fox business saying the house is going to vote on a spending bill tomorrow. Adam shapiro with the latest on capitol hill. What are they trying to do here . Reporter the plan as it seems to be right now according to sources close to Republican Leadership is you have two week extension and perhaps a separate funding mechanism for the military. You put more of the domestic spending issues off for two weeks and then come back on the 22nd and then do this again, extend it into january, neil. We dont have the timing of the vote tomorrow but that was from a source within Republican Leadership who told us house tomorrow and Mitch Mcconnell this morning on the floor of the senate said as soon as the house sends the continuing resolution, we will take up that. Were going to be talking about this into the hours of friday night. Then the issue of the president. The president about two hours ago said this about a possible shutdown. It could happen, the democrats are really looking at something that is very dangerous for our country. They are looking at shutting down, they want to have Illegal Immigrants in many cases, people that we dont want in our country. They want to have Illegal Immigrants pouring into our country, bringing with them crime, tremendous amounts of crime. We dont want to have that. We want to have a great beautiful crimefree country. Reporter nancy pelosi, the minority leader in the house issued this tweet after that quote President Trump is the only person talking about a government shutdown, democrats are hopeful to an agreement to address the urgent needs of the American People and keep government open. Looks like a late night friday, but if the source is accurate, were going to get a vote in the house thursday and be onto it friday in the senate, neil . Neil assuming you got a passage or agreement in the house, it would be a night vote or late night vote friday. Reporter in the senate, correct. Neil to nicole petallides, scott martin, joe durant, joe, first to you, is it your sense, then, if this is tripped up, markets might start getting worried because they built so much into the tax cuts happening and so many deals were made attached to the budget and concessions for senators to get those votes that this thing could unravel . I think the markets are have a lot of things to digest right now, and theyre priced for almost a perfect outcome, which is the biggest concern. I think the markets look for a reason to go down here, but theres so much positive momentum, if it does, it will be temporary. I think, again, this is like the boy who cried wolf. Were so tired of the whole discussion, i dont think this by itself is a big deal. The tax debate is much bigger. What the end resolution ends up looking lies, far more important for what it means for the economy and for the stock market as well. Neil you know, theyre doing a lot of horse trading, scott, on the tax thing, and a lot of it was built on maybe to get john mccains vote, more military spending part of. This maybe to get Susan Collins vote in maine, assurances that they would bolster and support peoples premiums who might be looking at higher premiums. So a lot attached to this, right . That could be behind the budget talk too is maybe the democrats trying to get back at lets say the administration had been here by saying lets drag out the budget thing until the wee hours of friday night news dump. Whats interesting, over the last few weeks, i feel like debbie downer, spilling the eggnog with respect to how excited or less than that i got with the workout of the tax bill. With all the machinations, the standard deductions, some of the tax brackets, its getting less exciting for me as an individual taxpayer. The corporate side is strong, but as the democrats have watered this down, played the game with the state and local tax deductions, neil, that has taken a lot of the wind out of tax bill being that big of a deal to the stock market going forward. Neil yeah, its hard to say, nicole, whats interesting i think it was broker from Morgan Stanley said for all the runup weve had prior to the markets and everything that is going on, we havent even accounted for half of it with the tax cuts. In other words, they go through, were still off to the races. How wide is that sentiment . I will say traders think two things. First is to your point, fundamentals, earnings, a better economy, better labor numbers. Homes, everything to the most part that brings Consumer Confidence which boosts the ultimate stock market to the highs that weve seen. Were not too far off the records. We pulled back in the month of december but still right near the records. That being said, there was a note out from when ubs floor trader today who talked about the specifics of the tax bill, and those that would most affect the stock market negative and there will three elements, the alternative minimum tax, one bone of contention from the senate, the more restrictive deductions for Interest Rates by businesses and the last was the Corporate Tax cuts that might not kick in until 2019, rather than 2018. Three elements that would not bode well for the stock market. But the big picture is people think this is going through and theyre feeling optimistic. Neil what do you think of that, joe . I think there are three things im concerned about. First, it appears that the personal tax reduction is temporary. Second, a lot of people end up paying higher taxes. Incredibly complicated outcome. And were adding a trillion and a half in liabilities to get it within the most optimistic, a trillion dollars of debt. So its really not a very clean tax bill at all. There are lots of losers along with the winners and on the corporate level, a lot of the Big Companies are not going to bring earnings back because theyre paying 20 less in taxes today by using offshore havens and no stick to get the earnings back. I think again, its more about whats already happening in the economy. Im not sure this has accomplished a lot other than giving a victory to getting something done, but i think when you peel the onion, theres a lot of things that dont feel good. The private exemption for private jets, but you cant deduct your home costs. Neil scott, you liked the private jet thing. I just got mine taken away. Neil im reading here apple could see a 47 billion tax windfall as a result of the tax forgiveness or tax lowering rate for money it holds abroad if it were to cash in on that. Thats one company. I know it represents a disproportionate share of better than 1. 5 trillion. The president says close to 3 trillion held abroad. If other Companies Bring that home, for whatever reason and other purposes, theyd make out like bandits, right . Yeah, thats one of the perks. Neil, depending what they do with the cash as joe pointed out is anybodys guess. The other thing going on with tech which is why weve seen the weakness in the last week or two which is there is interesting production taxes that are going to be new with respect to things like apple or other tech companies, Semiconductor Companies that make stuff overseas that get a tax break with the production cost that is starting to look like its going to go away. Mixup overseas to get the tax break in the tech sector may not have the benefit. As joe said and hes absolutely correct, a lot of winners and losers here, remember the word in february was phenomenal tax reform. This was going to benefit all americans. I dont see it that way. Neil what is the mood, nicole . When you talk to traders and the cross currents and the enormous runup you report on so well every day, they seem to be in pretty good spirits, period. They are in pretty good spirits. The end of the year, weve had unbelievable year for just about every sector. Now it is time where they start to do a little window dressing. They take the profits. They try and get into the stocks that did really well and set up for the new year ultimately. Theyre feeling pretty optimistic and not feeling like theyve been beaten down on the contrary as i noted earlier. Were near records, and as far as the techs, speaks to a great point how the tax bill may or may not affect them. You see a little dead cat bounce here. One analyst told me from web bush, the group will become more favorable as we go into 2018, if youre a believer in tech and feeling beaten down right now, they say to hold on there. Neil all right, guys, thank you all, nicole with the final word. Weve got the dow up 11. 63 points, something they said turned it positive albeit slightly. Were waiting for more details on the conference when they finally vote and get that going and on the spending measure which could happen tomorrow to expedite that. A lot of things have to be in perfect formation here. Well have more after this. Nah. Not gonna happen. Thats it. Im calling kohler about their walkin bath. My name is ken. How may i help you . Neil all right, its up to 19 senators now who are calling on al franken to step down, including Elizabeth Warren of massachusetts who personally called the senator to urge the same, the National DemocraticCommittee Chairman, perez, pretty much echoed. That tomorrow were going to hear from al franken himself presumably addressing this issue. Just a couple of days ago, said hes staying where he is. With the growing chorus call, that might not be the case. To fox contributor fred barnes, what do you think . Its not the case hes going to be able to stay, for sure. What had to happen for him to stay, the charges had to stop. In other words, new cases of women charging that he had acted in an improper way sexually toward them including this woman yesterday who said she had to leap out of his path in order to avoid his kissing her. And then once okay, so those continue, and then you had kif Kirsten Gillibrand, the new york senator when she said hes got to go, not only she was asking him, that it is necessary for him to go, that just started the avalanche. Neil yeah, and gillibrand made waves when bill clinton and Hillary Clinton essentially made her career. Indeed. Neil she said that, in this day and age, bill clinton given the accusations he dealt with at that time should have just resigned. But im just wondering now whether democrats are getting beyond al franken, assuming hes going to be kicked out, and clearing the decks for republicans. This is what you should do with roy moore, should he get here. No, look, democrats want roy moore to be elected. They elected him to be out there as a republican senator, where they have a clean slate, al franken is gone, but republicans are stuck with roy moore in the senate, and theyre going to be having to answer for him, democrats wont have to answer for anything, but republicans will have to answer for roy moore, and democrats will make sure theyre asked about him every day. You know, you think about it, far worse things controversially are said about donald trump, hes now sitting in the white house watching all of this. Republicans as a party can step back and say we shouldnt be playing to the democrats tune on this, what do you think . You mean in driving roy moore out if he getser. Right are. I dont think theyre going to do that now with President Trump and the republican National Committee are all for him and assuming he gets elected. Neil what would be the fallout if he were elected. Polls are tight. Mitch mcconnell echoing the president s posture on this, you know, let alabama voters decide. They decide they want more, what do they do . Well, then he comes to the senate. They wont have i dont think theyll have the votes to kick him out and see what President Trump does. He wants him there, but democrats are going to push hard, theyre going to make roy moore sitting in the senate with his background and all the accusations against him, theyre going to make that a major, major issue that republicans have to answer for all the time, and the media will be behind them on it. Neil its amazing and im not saying any machiavellian strategy here, but every good thing that happens with the president and republicans like on the tax cut progress, like on the navy moving rapidly to addressing welfare or not, get sidetracked on the clearly legitimate issues and stories and successes are buried. What do you make of that . The media is going to go after them if there is a shutdown. They normally blame republicans for the shutdowns, and then theyll have another issue as well, and thats the dreamers. The young people who are brought here by their parents. Neil attaching to that another spending initiative. Here we are at christmastime and theyre denying these poor people, ruining the christmas for these families and everything. You may think that sounds hokey and it is, but well hear it if thats the case. Remember, that was i think the main issue when Chuck Schumer and nancy pelosi refused to go to the white house to negotiate on this. It was because trump wasnt ready to say, okay, ill let him stay here legally and not end the program in march, which is where it stands at the moment. Neil now attaching it to a weird budget issue. So be the times. Fred barnes, thank you very, very much. It is up to 19 senators telling their colleague al franken its time to go. 48 Democratic Senators at the rate theyre going. Theyll all be saying that. And al franken reading the tea leaves is prepared to talk to folks tomorrow. That might be the moment. Well see. Retail. Under pressure like never before. And its connected technology thats moving companies forward fast. Ecommerce. Real time inventory. Virtual changing rooms. Thats why retailers rely on comcast business to deliver consistent Network Speed across multiple locations. Every corporate office, warehouse and store near or far covered. Leaving every competitor, threat and challenge outmaneuvered. Comcast business outmaneuver. I have determined that it is time to officially recognize jerusalem as the capital of israel. While previous president s have made this a major Campaign Promise, they failed to deliver. Today, i am delivering. Neil all right. Not everyone is happy about that. Of course the israelis are, but the palestinians Islamist Group hamas is urging arabs and muslims to undermine the group in the region. The pope himself, pope francis who says the status quo should stay to avoid the conflict. In other words, keeping jerusalem as a region recognized by all, and that all have rights too. Vatican position does not see it as a capital of anyones country, just of historical importance to lots of countries. That isnt exactly new coming from the pope but shows you where its going. Neil firefighters continue to battle the fast moving wildfire, on the phone is Hillary Vaughn with the very latest. Hillary . Reporter neil, total 83,000 acres, five wildfires, forced thousands to flee over the past few days. One fire popped off in bel air, a very rich part of l. A. , taken four multimilliondollar homes, started at 4 00 a. M. Local time. Its taken 150 acres and we heard an update from the Fire Department chief, ralphter as youas who says they are diverting resources to the area, its not the biggest but the area its threatening hundreds of homes and structures in the area. He said that quite frankly l. A. County as a whole is stretched thin with resources and said they had to send fewer firefighting resources to 911 calls because they are stretched so thin. He said the greatest threat here continues to be the santa ana winds that are unpredictable, causing a lot of hot spots and small fires to pop up in random places, leaving the crews to scramble and address the fires and prevent it from spreading to other structures. The thomas fire, in ventura, up to 65,000 acres burned. Whole area is smothered in a plume of smoke, causing School Closures and nasa captured this plume of smoke from space to give us a sense how much smoke is hovering above l. A. And Ventura County from these five fires alone, neil. Neil the people have been cleared from their homes, obviously, they cant go back until conditions warrant theyre allowed to. What do they do . Reporter right, there are few centers where they can gather. They had to shut down the 405 in the middle of rush hour at 4 00 a. M. They had to drive through as they saw the fire, a lot of them felt the heat of the flames on doors and windows while driving through. So right now people are getting as far away as they can and really on standby until they can get in. But conditions are so dangerous, a lot of firefighters cant go into assess the damage, neil . Neil thank you, Hillary Vaughn, more after this. Neil following a few concurrent developments right now. The senate said set to vote on this conference, final tax bill to get that going. They have their committee from the house and senate. Actually getting a conference going. Nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer are set to meet at white house for budget. They want riders, daca, so the kids we dont ship them back. This is something in the past democrats opposed when republicans did it. You know when other party is in power, republicans did it a lot. Were following a dow fairly tepid but defense stocks are, theyre running up smartly. I would imagine given this move on the president s part to make this jerusalem choice for embassy in israel . Welcomed by Benjamin Netanyahu but not a lot of folks who fear now is not the time. Well see. Trish regan. Trish thank you, neil cavuto. Breaking everyone, big, big news, the president announced he is moving the u. S. Embassy from tel aviv to jerusalem. We heard president s in the past make this same process, everyone from george w. Bush to barack obama when he was on the campaign trail. But President Trump is the first one to keep his word. To recognize the jerusalem as capital of israel . Welcome, im trish regan. Welcome to the intelligence report. We have here in the house, retired fourstar general jack keane on this major move on impacts on the u. S. And middle east. Breaking today, democratic senator al franken making
