All that and so much more, on making money. The market tip uses its record setting ways this rally this week to continue to roll on nasdac actually giving some back but thats the focal point because the momentum has been absolutely remarkable, cracking 9,000 for the first time ever, and by the way, this is right now, well see how it closes its the longest winning streak for the nasdac compass composite in many years and on that note i want to bring in 34 years matter of fact people are saying could this be november 1999 or march of 2000 because many wonder what could take this index and the overall market higher here to answer those questions, Wealth Management cio, fox business contributor scott martin so let me lay it out for the folks so we know what were talking about here. The milestones for the nasdac, it took three years ago from 1,000 to 2,000 and it only took one year to go from 2,000 to 3,000 one month to go from 3,000 to 4,000 just four months ago from 4,000 to 5,000 and guess what folks . We went and hit a new high for over seven years and in fact it was nothing but pure carnage. Monica what do you think we are right now with respect to history . Well i think if we party like 1999 we have a little bit more room to run but youve got to remember were very different landscape than 10 years ago. Tech companies in america are the Biggest Companies in america , so its not just talking to the strength of the sector but the overall American Economy so the nasdac is very representative of some of the Biggest Companies in america. Charles it really is, scott and do you know whats intriguing is it feels like the hype from 2000 when nasdac peaked at 5,000 is the reality of 2019. Yeah, and i like the way monica let in there. The tech of yesteryear in the 90 s didnt feel like real tech. It was a lot of hype, there wasnt real Balance Sheets there now days, charles look around. You look at crm, salesforce, nvi dia, workday, some of these companies are really tride and true parts of the u. S. Economy aside from the amazons and googles and microsoft so theres a lot of support and back i guess support with respect to what really these companies are doing these days versus what some of the companies were doing 1020 years ago so to me that means theres a lot more staying power in todays moves and a lot more things to be excited about as an investor in the nasdac composite index. Charles with the s p 500, 450 stocks are up only 55 are down same thing with nasdac, monica a whole bunch of the names are up and just not those household names not about apple, not just about amazon. One of the big winners this year , lululemon, charter communications, advanced micro, lam research, these kind of names, they arent necessarily household names they have been around for a while, people like you im sure know these names but the average investor may not and personally its good that the breadth of the leadership has expanded. Well i think in general consumers are looking for yield, so they are going beyond just the regular names that you hear all of the time. Its been a very strong year for stocks, i think next year, youre going to continue to see a little bit of room to run but theres a lot of opportunities here in america and america continues to be the best game in the world, when you look at where can you invest, this is still the most solid Investment Opportunity for most consumers. Charles scott, what areas do you think could either continue the leadership or will need leadership emerge . Well you know, next year is an interesting one charles because all of the political environment thats happening and sure to develop going forward, that tends to push and pull, other names and other areas. One area that weve been adding to here has been healthcare. Both on the biopharma areas but also the Healthcare Provider and Services Areas because i think a lot of that lets just say in discretion with respect to selling and some of the things that have come out of the candidates mouths the hopeful candidates mouths has been pushing some of that index and certainly some of that industry around so for us, if things may be become clear in 2020 healthcare is an area wed be looking at adding on pullback charles so funny with healthcare, because those spots have ic tariff en off like a rocket and its not a coincidence, they took off as Elizabeth Warrens poll numbers started to come down. Let me ask you about boeing, for instance. Boeing took it on the chin, tuesday, yesterday, coming back a little bit today. I think that dave calhoun is going to do the job. He was brought in there with the pedigree and the resume of going in in in and fixing broken companies but it could be painful as he has to make emissions that maybe prior management did not do. Boeing is in a very sticky spot and frankly the u. S. Is in a sticky spot because of boeing. Boeing alone could shave almost a half percent, off of q1 gdp so figuring that out is not only important for that company, its important for our economy, and now that we have trade deals kind of sorted out and some of the uncertainty that was a negative halo over 2019, getting things straight at boeing is very important for the u. S. In general for trade. Charles and an important stock on the dow which makes it one of the most important stocks in the entire market. Monica, scott, stay there one moment because i do want to switch gears talking about geo politics. Russia, china and iran all conducting fourday military joint naval drills in the gulf of oman, now russia and china have sides with iran. Here to help explain how the u. S. Is monitoring its military actions we want to bring in fox s lucas tomlinson. You dont want to hear china, russia and iran doing anything in the military together. Thats generally not the case youre right, charles but it is the first time all three nations have come together for naval drills and iran commander spoken ahead of the exercises. The fact that were now hosting these powers means that our relations have reached a significant point, and god willing, youll have global outcomes, and this message is peace and friendship, in the light of unity, and responsible collective cooperation. The joint military exercises are kicking off in the iran port city in the gulf of oman, outside the persian gulf. Where over the summer recall that attacks on commercial oil tankers and iran forces also shot down that 100 million american drone. U. S. Officials say the russians and chinese actually dont trust each other very much. They are also not alone in the gulf of oman, charles. Harry true man just arrived on station with dozens of strike aircraft as well as destroyer escorts that carry hundreds of tomahawk cruise missiles and in a statement the pentagon didnt appear very concerned about the drills. We are aware of the Multi Lateral exercise being conducted between oman, china, and russia and we are monitoring it and will continue to work with our partners to ensure free flow of commerce in international waterways. Earlier today u. S. Allie japan announced it was sending a war ship and aircraft to the region as well recall six months ago a Japanese Oil Tanker was attacked in the gulf of oman, same areas of those, charles. Charles a little hot, lucas thank you very much appreciate it. So for more on these International Concerns the geo political headlines and how they might effect 2020 for the stock market, i want to bring back monica and scott in. You know, monica, if you look at the headlines there was a piece that i was talking about the insane news cycle of 2019 from the Government Shutdown to the u. S. Mexico border crisis to the u. S. China trade war, to huawei, to mueller, to recession beings to the General Motors strike to the California Wildfires and finally baby yoda. [laughter] charles none of this seems to have slowed the market down although there were periods throughout the year where the market was paying attention and wasnt acting too great. Well i think for all of the risk that we saw in 2019 were seeing some of those risks getting sidelined at least as far as the market and the economy is concerned, not just here but also in the uk, they finally come to an agreement with brexit, and the uk will be leaving the European Union by the end of january and the rest of the year will be a grace year , so you saw actually, a huge amount of private investment on the sidelines, people sitting in cash, because of all of this uncertainty with trade, because of all of these agreements that our world leader s couldnt get to and now youll see more positive investment and momentum in 2020. Charles scott, lucas said that the white house or the administration didnt seem too concerned about those military drills. The market seems to be yawning as well, but you know, thats an important region in the world and youve got to believe that in 2020, an election year, were going to get pretty crazy headlines and pretty crazy stories. Oh, yeah, i mean, they will trust trump as much as they can, charles and then you mentioned, yeah, i agree maybe nobody is really that concerned about it now, but those three players are Major Players to keep an eye on especially if theyre working together in some sort of collusion because that would be one way they could definitely ruffle the u. S. , so i think going forward, as we heard in the report, we heard words like friendship, working together, things like that, peacetime, those all sound great but ill believe it when i see it with those three countries involved and i mentioned the attacks. The attack on the japanese tank er, some six months ago was absolutely insane considering that there are japanese dell delegates some 50 miles away from that tanker when they attacked it so there is really no discretion when it comes to attacks from foreign powers so to me lets just see how things pan out but keep a close eye on whats going on there. Charles lets talk about the provocative acts of these well known actors so to scotts point iran did a lot of things that were almost head scratchers , pushing and pushing and pushing, with respect to the united states, attempting go President Trump into some sort of military action that were supposed to get a Christmas Gift if you will from kim jongun. We havent but theres no doubt he wants attention, he may do something really crazy and if he shows the ability to pinpoint an icbm, or the nuclear warhead, i dont know were only going to do sanctions and thats got to worry market watchers. Absolutely and the only thing id layer into this is if we go into 2020 with a Strong Economy and there arent a lot of things that dems can throw on republicans as far as markets or the economy are concerned they are going to go after all of these geopolitical ideas, that the world is becoming crazy its not safe, and here, we have this leader whose adding to this climate, so youre absolutely right with these headlines, and theres going to be a lot of chatter in all of these areas next year for sure. Charles so tell me your greatest concern then, for the market this year. I mean, obviously you sound like youve seen the momentum carries us into 2020. The underlying fundamentals appear to be strong almost everyone agrees that earnings will be higher next year, you can debate how much higher so what will be your number one concern . I think my number one concern right now is how is the market and the economy going to perform when you just dont have as many aids and stimulus as we saw in 2019. Whats underlying whats beneath all of this . And its i think youre going to see more of that next year and to what extent are we going to rattle a stable and happy consumer with all of the mudslin ging inevitable next year Charles Monica and scott thank you very much both appreciate it later in the show ill share with you my winner for 2019. Youre looking right there. Thats a clue rosie the riveter. Democrats are running on the platform, give big corporate money out of politics but thats not stopping big corporate guys from pumping hundreds of million s in their campaign. Plus are Union Bosses Just when they could have turned the corner . Fox news contributor liz peek will weigh in on all of that, next. Limu emu doug and now for their service to the community, we present limu emu doug with this key to the city. [ applause ] its an honor to tell you that Liberty Mutual customizes your Car Insurance so you only pay for what you need. And now we need to get back to work. [ applause and band playing ] only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Its our most dangerous addiction. And to get the whole world clean . That takes a lot more than an alternative. So we took our worst vice, and turned it into the dna for a better system. Materials made from recycled plastic woven and molded into all the things we consume. We created bionic and put the word out with godaddy. What will you change . Make the world you want. Charles so theres growing criticism that president ial hopefuls Mike Bloomberg and tom styre, who hit the combined 200 million spending mark could be a problem but we just revealed congresswoman alexandria ocasiocortez under scrutiny for her big money ties and it turns out she did accept a 2,700 donation back in 2018 and this become despite rip ping Pete Buttigieg and Elizabeth Warren for their wealthy donors i want to bring in Fox News Contributor liz peek you know, liz its just so interesting. Its not a debate on what you feel about the role of corporate money, big money in politics, just the Democratic Party themselves continue to say that its a bad thing even as they take gobs of it in and i find they are spinning themselves into a pretzel here. The uncomfortable truth is it costs a lot of money to run a campaign, a congressional campaign, like aoc, but look at Elizabeth Warren. Elizabeth warren is probably the number one advocate for not taking big money donor money, right . And not having Swanky Affairs et cetera. She called out Pete Buttigieg for having done so but here is how she got away with doing that or how she could take that position. She took 10. 4 million that she held over from her senate campaign, from largely, big money donors, and also yes, some smaller donors, and basically, used that to build the infrastructure for her president ial run, as Pete Buttigieg has said its pretty easy to take that position when youve already got 10 million in the bank which by the way for starting out candidate is a huge amount of money, so look, here is the thing about Elizabeth Warren. Shes made this big platform for herself on how pure she is about this, but she did that knowingly she didnt run ads. I think this is very telling in 2018 just before her senate reelection, she was running no ads on tv but she was Still Holding those small intimate dinners where she would raise 600,000 or 1 million or whatever so this was a conscience effort on her part, a decision to prepare herself for, i think, running against bernie sanders, because bernie sanders, to his credit, has never taken money from big donors. He is truly the pure guy in the race, so she kind of positioned herself to, you know, joust with him over that, by doing something that was a little bit dishonest in my opinion. Charles it is interesting that all the candidates on both sides of the aisle like to brag when they can, and what is it about that . Does it just reflect in their minds or is it a media thing or grassroots, or you know, im one of the people kind of thing . I think it does show that. It shows that you have a popular appeal and look at what President Trump was able to do during the impeachment. They got 600,000 new donors, small money donors sending money into the Republican National committee who are so offended by the impeachment process. Thats a vote of confidence from hundreds of thousands of people, so look, i think the first time we all got a glimpse of bernie sanders, we took him seriously, because he was able to lay so much money online. That says he had a message. Charles i want to switch to hipocracy to a different level here the uaw. Details are out about the boss, a former boss, gary jones, lavish spending all of course on the unions time. You know, here is the interesting thing. According to gallup, just recently they polled opinions on unions. It came in at its highest rating in 50 years. It felt like unions could be turning the corner and here you have a guy who may have spent 13,000 at a cigar store, you know, buying these big cigars and cigars 300, liz. How crazy is that . Well to me actually its crazy anyway, to spend that money on a cigar but i think its deplorable and here is why. As you say, the popularity of unions has gone up. Why . Because all the democrat candidates are out there talking about how basically the welfare of the middle class began its descent in their view, tied to the descent of Labor Union Popularity and membership so here you have one of the biggest unions in the country 400,000 people, paying good money, for this apparatus of Union Leadership, and to find out these guys are incredibly corrupt and by the way the uaw has a long and rather splendid history of corruption. So this is nothing new but it hurts not just unions, and Union Members, it also hurts the country, because i view the gm strike as total payback. These Union Leaders wanted to show the country and the Union Members that they were doing something other than smoking big , heavy, expensive cigars, and so they put the country through a really ringing experience. Charles its amazing i remember when i was younger and we used to look for the union label and now, who knows. They ruined it. Appreciate it thank you very much. Appreciate it. Thank you. Charles American Consumers are spending with confidence that they really havent shown in a long time and of course retailer s are loving it but there is a new challenge ahead why shoppers shifting demands have retailers thinking green in hopes of seeing green. Charles well retailers have been enjoying tremendous success this Holiday Season but it looks like the honeymoon could be just about over as socially conscience secures put more pressure on the industry, for the most popular retailers keep up on things like environmental ly friendly closing and sustainable fashion and more importantly how can we make money off of it here to talk about it retail analyst erin syk es. Thanks for joining us. Thank you. Charles this thing is more than this whole Movement Towards the demands that consumers particularly Millennial Consumer s are making of these retailers and these companies is real, isnt it . Oh, its absolutely real. And weve seen retailers like h m come out with clothing made of pineapple husks, but what nobody is telling you is that making clothing from these materials is actually counter productive because it takes more water and more resources to create the fabric out of pineapple than it would traditional cotton so you have to be a conscientious consumer and lack at packaging, look at materials and look at all of the backend processing when youre choosing something that is truly sustainable or not charles how does someone go about that . I know there have been for instance some of the Shoe Companies online, that they were going to donate a certain portion of what we make, certain things that we use these materials that are reuseable, sustainable, they wont go away, wont hurt the environment, how does anyone even check on that . Well, its always best to choose quality over quantity, because it doesnt matter if something is recyclable if youre using it disposable, because you have all of the processing involved in that recycling, so if you use a website like the realreal where you can actually purchase lightlyused luxury goods that have already been authenticated, then youre actually part of the sustainable movement, because youre making sure that you buy into a system that is using the same materials, the same exact product over and over until they are no longer viable. That is the most Sustainable Way to shop. It is to shop thrift. Charles this is why were see ing a rise in the thrift shops and the vintage stores and i thought it was about old things being cool again but there is a real social angle here, ha . 100 . You look at patagonia. They are quite expensive, and they are also part of that movement with sustainability. They use a lot of plastic bottle s in theirs however they also just opened a shop over in brooklyn that is exclusively selling reused patagonia merchandise so theres a lot of ways to buy in and its not just about the fabric. Its about how the products are delivered, if they are using amazon is you know a big issue here, because we all order things that are in these huge boxes, and then we open up the packaging and we find, you know, a little hair clip or something in there, so theres a lot of ways to shop green and its not just about pineapple husks. Charles listen 30 seconds. You mentioned h m, which apparently had 4 billion in unused clothes. People are saying theyve gotten their act together any other publicly traded names we should be watching closely . Amazon and ikea. Typically things that are disposable that are shortterm purchases, or that come in substantial packaging, those are the ones that, you know, might be hit a little bit harder on the sustainability angle, but then in terms of positive sustainable companies, rent the runway and the real real, and then you also have out of london , depop and then poshmark which is a small startup in the states. Charles erin thank you very much, it goes on my watch as of today. Well see you soon. Thank you. Charles coming up why the iconic rosie the riveter is my winner of the year. Whose your winner of the year. Charles so for years americans looked up to folks who worked with their hands, and initially plowing the fields across this nation that fed us, and then those folks who helped to usher in the second industrial revolution, and then went on to win two world wars and imagine the images rather that have been memorialized go from the famous photo of the powerhouse working on the steam pump to posters and songs of rosie the riveter, marking women enter the workforce to help the nation feed the most menacing threat we ever face. Somewhere along the line, however americans working with their hands went from a symbol of pride to embarrassment and folks thats all changing as Blue Collar Workers are seeing great pride again and now seeing even greater financial rewards working participation for these folks have improved dramatically especially workingage men, 25 54. Now driving of course all of this is the big spike in blue collar wages rewarding those special skills needed to make tangible stuff that has weight, that has power so for my big winner 2019, i think its the American Worker but more specifically, Blue Collar Workers. I want to bring in District Media president beverly halberg. Thats my big group winner of the year, what do you think . I love it and we all know we have a 50 year low in unemployment and thats been reported on and the soaring economy has been reported on but the underreported story is the fact that when it comes to Blue Collar Workers in that industry we are seeing more jobs created in that industry than weve seen in years past talking about 1. 2 million jobs and this sector , under the trump adminitration, and by the way this is double what we saw in the past few years under the Obama Administration and i think its more than just the weight. As you mentioned the wages there it auto think its also that businesses are trying to attract people with trades, with a skillset, and they are offering them more flex Time Offering them more incentive so its even a more attractive job for people to have so i think this is great news for not just the economy but also the blue collar worker. Charles think about this we have a shortage of people who could build homes in this country and we have a shortage of people who could weld in this country great paying jobs i hope it keeps up and more young folks look toward that as a potential area to have a career, because you can have a great career particularly now that wages are matching those skillsets. And charles you dont have to go into college debt in order to do it so thats a big plus as well. Charles and you have a big group winner for the year . So i want to bring out one of my favorite winners is to bring a little hope for 2020 its actually an individual , ellen who this year decided to show kindness, she was twitter shamed or people tried to twitter shame her about having a friendship with president george w. Bush and she came out and said, that we can still have disagreements and still be kind to one another. I think president george w. Bush also has done this well with his friendship with Michelle Obama so thats my big winner of the year, is to say lets have a little bit more kindness in 2020 i think this individual led the way. Charles thats a good one. Thats a unique one because youre right. She took a lot of heat particularly from the left. Let me give you my big individual winner for the year. Tiger woods. Talking about a monster comeback , and then to cap it off with the president s cup, of course hes back in the top 10. I think its really one of the ultimate redemption stories of this year and almost any year beverly. I love this ill admit im a sports fan but not a huge golf fan yet it was impossible for anybody watching this to not feel something and i think probably one of the most memorable aspects as he embraced his son following the masters win which of course is reminiscent of when he won his first championship, his first masters in 1997 when he hugged his father, so i think just see ing those side by side, it not only showed what the hes able to accomplish at his age and overcoming injury but i have also, i think, with all of the lows that hes had as you said, to have a redemption story, so 2019 really was the year of tiger woods. Charles beverly we did the winners today ill bring him back next week to talk about the losers. There are a lot of losers. Charles thanks a lot well see you soon. Thank you charles. Charles democrats are doing a key part of their base why black and hispanic voters in swing states are being left out in the cold and 2019 was a year of shifting trends in society and it also played out was wall street, talking electric cars, and well break these down as we head into 2020 coming right up. Most people think of verizon as a reliable phone company. But to businesses, were a reliable partner. We Keep Companies ready for whats next. man we weave security into their business. second man virtualize their operations. woman and build ai customer experiences. second woman we also keep them ready for the next big opportunity. Like 5g. Almost all of the fortune 500 partner with us. woman when it comes to digital transformation. Verizon keeps business ready. Charles were heard a lot about black and hispanic voters looping large over the election coming in 2020, yet theres more and more of a feeling out there that they are being left out by the democratics ahead of the first primary so really how much longer can the left take this huge chunk of their voting base for granted . Here for reaction radio host and political analyst Rashad Richie and kathy, there was an article in the Washington Post of all places suggesting that the democrats are taking or not paying enough attention to hispanic voters, i personally believe they have taken black voters for granted for many many decades although they really lose the votes, so where are they going whats going on here . Yeah, its always the argument right . So if politicians make a big deal and go after hispanics and minorities then they are pandering but then if they dont , then theyre not paying attention so its almost like a nowin but we have aoc. Shes hispanic, corey booker, Julian Castro, so we have people diversity on that stage, so the democrats are actually showing that they are diverse as opposed to having to now just pander. Charles so the publisher of a latino magazine youre cool with it . You think castro should be popular in New Hampshire to make it on the debate stage youre okay with that . No, i do not like the way the politics are run in fundraising i wrote an oped today saying i dont like the way they are left off stage because they arent fundraising because the way politics are bought and paid for in this country but at least we have hispanic and women running for office, republicans dont have any women running for 2020. Charles you know, if it works that well to get the votes, you know, i dont know. I think that thats a pretty low bar to say hey, im going to give you my vote because castro is polling at 1 but at least he was there. Well hes there to represent an agenda, charles and i think its laughable to suggest that somehow the hispanic population of the black population is completely being ignored by Democratic Politics this comes down to policy and now are there some democrats who are ignoring the black agenda . Hell yeah, every single year and president ial politics, theres an ignoring of some black folk and hispanic folk as it relates to policy. That is not the general consensus of those who are running for president , senator corey booker, Julian Castro and others articulated very well what they believe this party should represent, and beyond that, charles, lets look at the actual data from 2018. 69 of latinos voted for the democrat in the midterm election. They did that for a reason. These are smart voters. Charles yes. They arent being ignored totally theres always a sense that everything is not vetted out as it should be. Thats the political process, because we do not select our president , we elect them, which means it comes down to the lesser of two evils typically. Charles and by the way, Julian Castro, not joaquin, so kathy here is the thing. It feels like now the Democratic Party will probably find a way to put a black woman on the general ticket, so it might come down to Kamala Harris or abraham s out of georgia because that would give them a chance to win in georgia to win some of these states where if hillary maybe had done more than just keep hot sauce in her pocket book she might have won. Yeah, well john mccain did pick sarah palin just to appeal to women and to seem hip so anything is possible, but i think democrats at the end of the day will vote for the person who doesnt want to build a wall , with mexico, and doesnt treat minorities as racist, murders, animals and things like that. Charles i tell you what though the candidate one woman who arrested a whole bunch of blacks and hispanics put them in jail for smoking weed, another person rounded off almost 1 million blacks in new york city for being black and another person who passed the crime bill that put a lot of black young men in prison, oh, yeah someone is saying mean things on an escalator ride is the most dangerous thing that could happen to black people. Rashad, ill give you the last word. You actually have a good point about those candidates and thats why they have a very difficult time merging in a democratic primary that is becoming more and more progressive and diverse, by the moment but lets look at the cumulative data. While some people will suggest that black folk and hispanic folk only vote for democrats because of relationship, and not because of policy i challenge you to look at the data. Cumulative averages show that over 40 years of democratic governance as contrasted with republican governance you have had a decrease of black poverty by 40 under republican governance that poverty increased by 3 , so pound for pound when theres a democratic president , in office, black folk and brown folk do better economically, socially, and educationally, those are the facts. Charles i just got two things to say. You must share that data with me because i look at democratically controlled cities and states, i see the exact opposite and i can not wait to resume this, thank you both very much appreciated. Thanks. Charles so were four days away from new years eve and new york city getting ready for the biggest bash of the year. Well take a look inside that iconic ball as it prepares for the big night. Whats your idea . I put it out there with a godaddy website. Make the world you want. Charles so i want to go back to the topic we hit at the top of the hour, shares of boeing flat after a departure yet another executive as the Company Works to put an end to the 737 max crisis, christina partsinevelos filling in for liz claman joins us now. Kristina this is the fourth executive weve seen stepping down after the ceo, the vp of communications, the one who runs commercial jetlines, so overall we are going to be discussing with a former commercial pilot that would be kathleen banks about what is really going on with boeing. Is it just the software fix . How can they turn themselves around and how can they regain the trust of the public. Plus, well have bubba king talk about his beaten down picks youll want to pickup on that charles threing it back to you. Charles Everybody Loves a beaten down pic. Tune into the claman countdown at the top of the hour, meanwhile the countdown for 202e prepares to ring in the new year s with that annual ball drop , jackie deangeles going a look inside that iconic new year s tradition. We are live at onetimes square, previewing the ball before the historic drop next week, and of course this is not just the change of a calendar year. It is the start of a new decade, now the ball behind me, 2,688 waterford crystals and it is 12 feet in diameter, 11875 pounds and it has more than 32000 led. Now 192 of the crystals are going to be replaced with New Waterford crystals to celebrate the gift of goodwill. Its the design of the three pineapples. This years theme is the gift of goodwill, so goodwill is all about generosity and its all about taking pause for just a moment and seeking the good in every single situation. 1 Million People according to times square are expected to be here to watch the historic ball drop. Millions will watch nationwide, billions around the world, but of course, security is key here, the nypd says, it will work with new york state police, mta police, the fbi, as well as many others to make sure everyone is safe. No backpacks, no big bags, no umbrellas, no alcoholic beverage s here, to make sure that this drop goes as smoothly as the ones in the past. Charles . Back to you. Charles thank you very much jackie. Earlier today, they are water ford, even better, and now the dow, s p 500 and the nasdac seeing another record bad day for the markets nasdac getting back but looking ahead to the big investment trench of 2020. Next. To the outside world, you look good, but you dont feel good. With polycythemia vera, pv, symptoms can change so slowly over time you might not notice. Maybe they like checking with their supervisor to see how much Vacation Time they have. Or sending corporate their expense reports. Ill let you in on a little secret. They dont. By empowering employees to manage their own tasks, paycom frees you to focus on the business of business. To learn more, visit paycom. Com charles the dow on pace now for another record high close today. Investors, consumers both, however, are becoming more ecofriendly. Obviously companies are taking notice. Here with some ideas on what stocks you may want to check out to face these potential challenges, i want to bring in mahoney Asset Management president , ken mahoney. Its one of these things, whether you believe or not, i know millenials love these trends, i know business is paying attention. We heard this year. To a degree they are giving lip service, whether its a Business Roundtable or chamber of commerce but you can only give so much lip service when indeed people are going into these stores, going online and looking for products and companies that are sustainable, and they spend a premium on these products. Studies have shown one after another, millenials are willing to pay an extra 10 , 20 as long as they know products are stable. It is a really its a real thing. Surveys have shown again, over 80 of people really want to see this recycle, this gap between who wants to pay for it. 80 of americans want to know were not just throwing into the waste or throwing into the ocean, we can do something with those materials. Charles heres an interesting thing. The socially responsible investing overall which is getting not a bad rap but almost anyone can slap that on their business, say us, too, so its hard to know, its really hard to wade through this. I believe we can make a lot of money on this next year, with the companies that are doing it right. I want to talk to you about a few. Start with sustainability. What company out there you think is doing this right . According to barrons, number one is best buy. It seems kind of weird. Best buy, you think of some other company, but computers, when they get computers back instead of discarding them in landfills like you see, they are taking the raw material and making new computers out of them. The geek squad is out there, too. They are out there helping out your computers. Instead of throwing it into some type of heap, they are working on those computers to make sure those computers are sustainable and they are not dealing with the problem of landfills, oceans and those type of things. Charles i would never have thought of it but now that you mention it, it makes total sense. Big people are giving these things back, thats a big driver. So best buy has been a great stock. Up 70 year to date. Check the boxes, they can compete with amazon because people needed indication. Charles how about a few years ago, many people were writing them off, right . Like gamestop and those type of things. Charles it was a showcase, you go in there click, click, take a picture of it, come back and buy it online. Charles kudos to them. Electric vehicles. What blows my mind, around the world, we keep hearing these companies saying we are going to, you know, invest billions into electric vehicles. Right now, i dont see any demand for it. But somethings going on here. I think governments will make this happen with subsidies or whatever. Tesla obviously, through the roof already. Can it keep going . Its going parabolic. Its actually doubled since the summertime but you cant bet against elon musk. You really cant. Solar, i dont know how you evaluate that but the Battery Charge is something they have going on. Intellectual property, the fence they put around intellectual property. Dont bet against them. Charles this giga factory, they are building one in america thats supposed to be the factory, we have never seen one like it. You have to go back to henry ford and the Assembly Line and they are building one in china. They will have the first car ready for china next week. They are doing a lot more. Elon musk, to a degree, deserves some of the stuff he got from his personal behavior but as a businessman and visionary absolutely. These people love their cars. Its like apple. Know how people love their apples . Iphones, ipads, this type of thing. Ask a tesla owner what they think about their car. Its that type of love toward a product, very much like most people have towards apple. Charles obviously, at some point, too, that battery is one of the reasons people are buying, too. I got to ask about fake meat. I havent tried one of these burgers yet but my granddaughter told me earlier this year she wanted to go to burger king to try the plantbased burger. If a 6yearold knows about this, its an investment theme. Do you buy the beyond meats or impossibles . Do you go for the big boys who made elbow them out . It was fun around ipo time and people traded it but sustained sales will be tough and distribution, for that matter. One thing about your granddaughter going there. They have a lot of sodium. They can do plantbased. They need to find a way to make it healthier. Obviously you substitute one health risk with another health risk by eating that. Charles you wonder how you get a plant and all of a sudden make it into a burger. Lot of sodium. Charles great seeing you. We are up 55 points on the dow as i hand it over to kristina partsinevelos. Filling in for liz claman. Over to you. Kristina thank you very much. Appreciate it. We have quite a day for you. The nasdaq, record run about to maybe come to an end. That would be ten straight sessions of records in jeopardy, just in the final hour of trade which is why you cannot change the channel. But not so far for the dow and s p 500. You can see the green on the screen there, both aiming for new alltime highs as the santa claus rally stretches its legs. The dow, you can see on the screen, up 54 points. The s p up about three points, almost relatively flat. The nasdaq, you can almost say negatively flat. But boeing, still hitting turbulence as another Top Executive announces hes leaving the company. We take a deep dive into boeings disastrous year and what it needs
